What happened to Ravi Batra?

Remember the Indian-American economist Ravi Batra? he wrote a book around the late 80's, called the "CRASH OF 1990". In the book he predicted a worldwide depression, similar to twhat happened in the 1930's.
My question: did this gloom and doom sayer ever recant is obvious error? What does he predict today?

He is still at it. Here is an Interview with Batra (http://www.usagold.com/TaylorBatraCrash.html) from a year ago in which is mentioned his prediction of the "Crash of the Millennium" that was supposed to happen in late 1999 or the first two months of 2000.
