View Full Version : In the interest of fairness, I must say something good about Wal-Mart

Anyone familiar with these boards knows that I'm no fan of them. However, I chose to solicit local businesses for funding regarding our Fire Prevention Program which provides smoke detectors to lower income individuals, along with free checks and battery replacement. They ponied up $500, which will buy about 80 detectors, for which I'm appreciative. I figure these detectors will go to homes of some of their customers, and if it saves a life, it's a win-win deal.
Although I bitch about Wally World, fair is fair. Thank you Wal-Mart.

Ditto. Sometimes people are not the ogres we tend to think they are.

I'm genuinely glad they were willing to give your cause $500. However, it sounds like they could afford it. Lets not forget that they ponied up $20 for hurricane relief and guaranteed that any of their employees displaced from their homes by Katrina would not lose their jobs.
