Since my cube is up against a wall of filing cabinets, I have managed to inherit several plants, as well as an 8' rubber tree named Frankie. Ever since I've gotten those damn plants, I have gnats (or fruit flies, or noseeums, whatever they're called) buzzing around constantly. I look like a damn spaz trying to clap-kill them. :) I hate to say "no" with a qualifier. Around Christmas time, when Ms.Nic and I go to the stores, we both wear the red and white Santa-type hat and I'll wear something red, a plaid or something. Since she is about 4'11'', it really works.
This will usually stop the kiddies dead in their tracks in the toy section, or most anywhere really.
We were at a store and I was passing through the toy area to get somewhere else and my mind was on other things in my search. While looking down an asile, a little girl, maybe 2, stops, jaw slack, eyes big, and after a moment says
"Ho Ho?".
Oh, it just about made me mist up. I put my finger to my lips, looked left and right, and "shhhh... it's a secret".
Others come up in a resturant or something ad ask, in a very quiet tone "What's your name?" Hopeing for "Santa", the look a bit disappointed at first when I say "Nic", but after a second or two, the light comes on "Oooooh... St. Nick".
Very cute. And always fun.
The Santa Pic was the idea of the people at the Mall. They wanted to put it up on the display were people are coming into the picture taking area.

You have my deepest sympathy on your loss. Horses are such wonderful critters , and Nick was lovely. I snuck a peek at the whole album and enjoyed all the pics.

I do have to say that your long hair looked really nice. I bet it was a pain to clean though. You also have a wonderful smile, I can feel its contagious nature even across the span of time and through the medium.
