In case you haven't had the pleasure, meet Marv (http://www.spawn.com/toyfair2000/catalog/deathrowmarv.boxed.html); seated in his electric chair and ready for your young son or daughter to electrocute. Throw the switch and his hands shake & eyes glow red.
Guess what kids- electricity makes your eyes glow red! It's readily available at your nearest electrical outlet! Hurry before mom catches you!
I have always been a fence sitter on the issue of kids playing with toy guns & knives (leaning heavily towards the not side), but this has got to be the last straw for me. I think I have heard that this guy is taken from an adult comic series, and I hope that's the only demographic he'll appeal to in action figure form. Sorry, I think I took too many naive pills this morning.
How do you dopers with kids feel about this "toy"?

actually, you're kind of late on the draw, as it were.
Playmobile, a very upscale toy (kinda like legos in that it has little figures about 4 inches tall, and they go in sets like the pirate set, castle set, you don't really have that much to put together, but I digress).
Very expensive (relatively) and only obtainable at upscale toy stores, THEY had an "executioner" figure. Yep. Hooded, with a battle axe and everything. I bought 5. Couldn't believe it. (no, not for the kid - even tho' it's historically accurate, I'm not sure I wanted youngster playing at "executing" some malfescent toy figure) Sigh. we've come a long way, haven't we?

Just think . . . if your kids thought they were invincible before, they'll think they are now! Even the electric chair doesn't kill you! It's just a toy! Isn't death fun?
And you know some parent is going to give their kid this, and some parent is going to scar their kid for life with it . . . why can't some ideas just be good little mongrels and die?

It's from McFarlane. Any parent that would buy a small child anything from Todd McFarlane should have their Parenting License taken away.

I don't know anyone who would give that to a kid, but I would love it. Sin City is cool. Todd McFarlane makes adult toys.

Yo wring, it's "Playmobil" and they now sell directly online at their Web site (http://www.playmobil.com). I don't think the Axe Man/Executioner (Playmobil model number 4525) is made anymore.
Part of the reason you can find great stuff like that for Playmobil is that they're made in Germany where they haven't discovered PCisms yet. The cowboys still carry pistols and rifles, and they still sell cages for their zoo animals.
I love Playmobil and spend way too much money on them. Just ask Obfusciatrist.
