Intranasal zit forming: Its gonna be a good one! (TMI? you think?)

I've got a monster of a zit forming just inside my left nostril. It started yesterday, I had the peculiar sort of tender-to-the-touch sensation that you just know is going to be a zit.

Today, its become noticeably swollen and rather painful to the touch. All attempts at popping have so far been met with only a token oozing of clear fluid and a dollop of blood.

I can tell already this is going to be quite a show when the fucker finally gives. I give it 1-2 more days of torturing me before Zero Hour.

I will provide updates on the status of this particular bane of humanity.

Try cotton wool soaked in hot water to ease the pain.

Just be careful though, if you normally get cold sores on your lips, as they can also appear in your nose. If the "zit" looks more like a blister filled with clear fuid, go to your pharmacist for advice.Topical Acyclovir might help it to heal faster.

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, and I'm kinda past the acne stage, so that was weird. The head of the pimple was inside my nostril, not outside on the skin of my nose. But it didn't burst....it just disappeared. No blood-splattering-bathroom-mirror episode for me.

It's probably a very bad idea to pop them, but that's what I've done. It hurts like a motherfuck, but the relief when it goes is indescribable. Almost orgasmic, though quicker.

I'm one of those freaks that picks her boyfriend's zits as well as the few I get myself, though, so I might have a weird idea of what's a good thing to do with a zit.

Same here. Its on the left side of "the divider between the nostrils", as I call it.

Well, since this thread is here and all....

My skin's been behaving itself well the last few weeks, must be the weather. My skin looooves misty weather.

But about 4 days ago, my chin starting hurting a little. Dammit, I though. Zit. It'll have got to a head tonight or tomorrow morning. So I wake up the next morning, and no, it hasn't come to a head. Instead, one side of my chin is hugely swollen and painful, but not too red. In fact, if you didn't look to closely, with the angle and all, you probably wouldn't see it. So I load up the zit cream on that one spot and go about my day. That night, it's even bigger, if that's possible. I soak a cloth in hot, hot water and place it on my chin. And keep doing this, for about half an hour. Again, load up the zit cream, go to bed.

It's day four now, and I've been doing the same soak-with-hot-water, try-a-tea-tree-oil-mask, load-up-with-zit-cream regimine, but nothing. It's still a giant, painful, but not red lump on my chin that won't do anything. Won't decrease in size, won't come to head, nothing. I even found a point that looked like it could be the problem pore and poked it with a needle - all I got was a drop of blood and some clear fluid.

I don't want to mess around with this too much and get some big ugly scar on my chin, but WHAT THE HELL IS THIS THING?

Little whitehead on my little forehead, pressed down with the little hole and *splort* right on the mirror! Yippieeee!

My favorite, tho, are the ingrown or infected hairs. You pluck the little hair and it's all covered in cheese. Ieuuuu!

Ohhhh, I had an ingrown hair on my leg a while ago! It turned pimply so I started to pop it and it made this poo! sound while a little sausage of pus came out. I've been blessed in the acne department *knock on wood* so I don't have to pop pimples often, though.

Then maybe it's a wart. My dermatologist told me about removing a giant wart from the inside of a guy's nose. Naw, you wouldn't do such a thing CGabe. It's definitely one more reason not to go booger mining, though.

Here's a nifty zit tale.

Some of you may know of all the work I've had on my nose. The last round of surgery involved removing a piece of my ear cartilage and placing it in the skin on the tip bit of my nose from nostril to nostril. The idea is to prop my nostrils open.

I started to get a deep zit on the outside of my right nostril right above where I used to have a piercing. The damn thing grew for days and jabbing at it with a little pin didn't help. After about a week I could feel and see it on the inside of my nostril. I couldn't pop it from there either.

One day I decided enough was enough and decided I wasn't going to leave the bathroom until the bastard had been drained.

After a fair amount of squeezing and poking I noticed something odd coming from the hole where my nose was pierced. I got out the tweasers and gave it a tug. It was a hair. A hair?? My guess is somehow during all the nose cutting a hair follicle somehow ended up growing backwards and caused the infection - the escape route was the old piercing hole. Once the hair was out I decided to have no mercy on the bag of pus that was once my nose. I pushed a pin into the old piercing hole. I figured I would either pop the growing menace or re-pierce my nose in the process.

In my experience, zit poppers don't work so well for "blind" pimples -- the ones that don't have much of a head to them, so you go after them with a safety pin.

Oooh, I love me some zit popping, and this thread brought a few things to mind:

1) I also recently got a huge, ow-y, won't-come-to-a-head zit on my chin, but perserverence paid off and i popped it the other day. It was rather anti-climatic, didn't make much of a mess or anything.

2) the clear fluid is called lymph.

3) my SO and I love popping each other's zits, but we only do ones the other can't reach. He gets a little grossed out by it in theory, but i know he likes it just as much as me.

4) I have also gotten nose pimples in the past, but it's been awhile. From what I remember, they got big and hurty, but were spectacular when popped. I also sometimes get them on the cartilige-y part of my ear, and those are fun to pop too.

Hola Amigos. I know its been a while since I rapped at 'ya.

Status report:
Zit still intact. It has failed to increse substantially in size, but has increased in tenderness.

All attempts to pop have so far failed. I've tried both the "needle" and "excruciating amounts of pressure" tactics, with no success.
