View Full Version : Oh my God...mommy...I'm not 16 anymore!

For some crazy reason I accompanied some friends down to Deep Ellum last night and now I'm feeling it.
We went to this microbrewery called: "The Copper Tank Brewing Company" and it was fun, but their beer was STRONG!
I had too many before I realized how strong it was and we didn't get out of there until almost 2am. I got home around 4:30am after a trip to IHOP and got maybe one hour of sleep last night...
I've got to knock this off, I barely even made it out of bed and to work this morning and I am hurting! Oh...*stretches* groan...
Ahhhh....the pain...when I was 16 I just shrugged this off, I'm only 21 now...but geez, I am not looking forward to 30 and 40 if it starts hurting like this as the years go by!!
Of course..I'd probably be ok if it wasn't for the lack of sleep the previous two nights!!! *ding ding*

Consider yourself lucky. At 36, I'd probably be checking myself into the hospital if I'd done what you did last night. On the other hand, there is something to be said for age. For example, at 36, I know that doing that shit would probably kill me and I'd be in my cozy bed by 10:30pm after putting the kids to bed and having a little cozy snuggle with the wife. Mind you, if memory serves, at 23, I recall throwing drunks like you out of our college pub. :p

Don't worry. By the time you hit 30 you won't be doing things like that anymore.
You'll be wise enough to notice how strong the beer is after your first. :D

It's much worse than you think SkySlash. At about 28, you'll wake up and realise you are a fat bastard with a gut bigger than two chubby puppies. And you'll be shockingly hungover.
Umm.. so I'm told.

I'm 33 and I can't remember the last time I could pull that sort of thing off. Even when I go see bands in clubs (3-4 times a year now. And more out of dedication than anything else) I don't drink anything stronger than soda make sure I get some real food ahead of time!

Your only 21 and you feel like that? Yikes! I feel bad for you. I didn't start feeling like that until I was 26 or 27.

Things start going downhill around the age of 25 or so..... when suddenly you realize the 'kids' at the bar are ALOT younger then you....then you go out and want to go home when the club closes; not to mention that being drunk is not nearly as much fun... and the hangover takes 4 days and 3 bottles of Tylenol!!!

I start to get a buzz-on if I drink more than two beers. If I've had little or nothing to eat shortly beforehand, the mere thought of beer gets me tipsy.
In short....what Satan said, SkySlash. :D

Only 21 and you can't handle the heat? What's this world coming to, when these whippersnappers can't get their crap together long enough to guzzle half the world's supply of booze? I mean, in my day, we packed changes of clothes in our cars, along with toothbrushes and other sundries, so we could just drive to work at dawn and get cleaned up before the others showed up. No stopping at home for a weasly hour of sleep! That was for wussies!
Do yourself a favor, and put down that pint glass, sonny boy. Yes, put it down, and slide it over to this ripe ole girl here. Let me show you how it's done...

I was 25 before the hangovers began to bring me down. On the other hand if it did not take me an entire day to recover from overindulging in my alcohol intake I would be out and about making an ass of myself much more often. Much like my early 20ís as a matter of fact.
