Quite some time ago, I played a little puzzle game online. Hopefully you can point me to it:
In the centre of the screen was a large ball/globe. Around the edges of the screen were around a dozen objects including a ladder, radar dish, cogs, a mountain, sun etc.
There were no instructions and I won't say in case someone else wants a go (if it's found).
Apparently there is a square version out now...

Yours in anticipation

I found it after some Googling. It's called Grow (http://www.kiteretsu.jp/on/grow3/) and it was quite frustrating :)

My dog just came running in here to see what the music was that that site plays.

What the frell are the rules? To place the objects in the correct order so you finish the "adventure," which consists of the hero eventually killing the demon critter at the top. Objects must be placed in the correct order. Great little game. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Psst, you're thinking of GrowRPG (http://www.eyezmaze.com/grow/RPG/), which is similar, different. There's also Grow Cube (http://www.eyezmaze.com/grow/cube/index.html).

is it online-Java? or OSX compatable? I'm a sucker for addictive puzzle games - I spent 7 hours at Sudoku Saturday

It's either Flash or Java plug in. And not like any puzzle you've done before... Give it a go. The RPG version had me chuckling like a loon last night.

I played GrowCube for a while - it's too cute for words. I'll try the others too.
