CNN story (http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/Music/12/05/abba.reut/index.html)
This comes as no surprise, really. The group once turned down an insane offer of $1 billion (http://www.musicinsight.com/node/view/28) to do 100 concerts.
They continue to make lots of cash from their records and DVDs. Plus, Benny & Bjorn are making a mint from Mamma Mia and their other musicals. Benny even said that Mamma Mia has made them more money than their records (they've sold over 350 million (http://www.mamma-mia.com/london/abbastory.asp) over the past 30 years, though the CNN story says 100 million. On one of their DVDs is a presentation of an award for 300 million).
Although I was never able to see them live (they came as cloase as Atlanta in 1979), I agree with their decision not to tour. I think a VH1 Storytellers or MTV Unplugged would be interesting, though.
