Head spinning?

Do you find that you are running around in circles?

Don't know what you want to do?

Or what to do next?

Or even what you should be doing?

Are you content?

Do you find yourself wishing for a better life?

- Or is there an (as yet) undefined desire burning within you?

Do you trust in fate (... it must have been meant to be this way ...)

-- Or luck? (... If only you could win the lottery ...)

--- Or do you understand that only you can control the quality of your life?

The life you have today is the sum total of all the choices that you have made during your life.

The choices you make each minute of every day determine the direction of the life you lead.

These decisions also have a direct impact on the lives of those who depend upon you.

OKAY ... you know the life you have today.

What will be your life be like tomorrow?

A week from now?

- A month?

-- A year?

--- Where will you be five years from now?

STOP!
_______ ... Stand still ...
____________________ ... for just a moment ...
______________________________________ ... and think!

If you don't know where you are now ...

or what you want your life to be like in five years ...

how can you possibly make good decisions today that will affect the rest of your life?

Time is so precious, and with each passing moment you have less to spare.

What have you done today to improve your life?

Or the life of a loved one?

What choices are YOU going to make -- TODAY -- to take your life to the level you deserve ...

And put a smile on your face TOMORROW?

Whoever or wherever you are, please accept my wish for a better life ...

... for yourself,

____________ ... for those you love,

______________________________ ... and those who love you.

May this Holiday Season find you and yours safe, well, and happy.

Lucy

Of course the choices we make every day have an impact on our lives, and on the lives of those around us, but most of the time there is no way to know in advance which decision will have the best long-term consequences--even if one subscribes to your idea of carefully planning life. (I tend to think that 5-year-plans are for businesses, not people: I'd never want to make a decision today based on some idea of what I think I'll want my life to be like in 5 years.)

You seem to be implying that all everyone needs to do is to figure out what they want from life, and everything will fall into place. Nice sentiment, but entirely simplistic and -- like most similar sentiments -- easier said than done. In short, I don't feel like you've said much of anything.

Or have I missed something?

Gee, thanks. You too. That's the only way I know how to respond to that.

Wait. Are you trying to say my life isn't good enough?

How did you turn "Happy Holidays" into "Be careful...iIf you make a wrong move today, your life could be fucked forever?"

Anyway, I sincerely hope you have a great holiday... but jeez. That was messed up.

I don't know, I kind of liked it. But I am wondering, Lucy... are you by any chance a high school guidance counselor?

If you send the OP to 5 or more people in the next 5 minutes, all your Christmas wishes will come true. If you don't, you'll die of the plague within 3 weeks.

Or so I heard.

This is definitely in the right forum

Head spinning?

a little

Do you find that you are running around in circles?

yes, definitely

Don't know what you want to do?

Of course I know what I want to do, I want to make myself dizzy. That's why I'm running around in circles. That's why my head is spinning.

Or what to do next?

Another fast lap around the room

Or even what you should be doing?

I could reverse directions and run widdershins, I suppose...

Are you content?

Yes, it seems to be working!

Do you find yourself wishing for a better life?

::slows, stops:: Is this a trick question??

Or is there an (as yet) undefined desire burning within you?

 just a little nausea and heartburn from the dizziness and running in circles, I think

Do you trust in fate (... it must have been meant to be this way ...)

Maybe. Now that I stopped running, I'm even dizzier than before. Was that the idea?

Or luck? (... If only you could win the lottery ...)

....... Excuse me, but how much longer does this go on?

Or do you understand that only you can control the quality of your life?

This is the weirdest poll I've seen all week! ::topples over with a thunk::

::rises to hands and knees, wobbly:: OK, I've got to see what kinds of answers you've been getting so far...
