Is it me, or does the amount of makeup female newscasters wear today seem ridiculous? Does anyone actually find this attractive?

I don't find it attractive, but then I don't regard it as a prerequisite for news anchors that they look attractive. If that's the way they want to decorate themselves, it's their face. If it's imposed on them by network brass, that sucks.

I wrote about this ridiculous trend many months ago. The worst is the trowled-on applications of lip gloss. I read somewhere that the male networks execs like to hire what are essentially "trophy wives" as anchors. Good for ratings.
While we're at it, what's with all the man-jawed, shovel-jawed women in the media and on television in general? A well-defined jawline is great, but the networks seem to be one-uping Ahnold and Morticia.
