I hereby pit the frellin' non-profits who have taken to sending me masses of heavy plastic mailing labels with my name and address on them. You morons! I do not want your labels! Sending them to me is not making points with me for your organization! You're simply producing more non-recyclable junk that I have to laboriously shred so that someone doesn't try to steal my identity.

And I'm not talking about the merely obnoxious junk mailers, folks, I'm talking about non-profits that I used to respect. My pit list includes The Nature Conservancy, fer chrissakes!

The more labels I get from them, the fewer I have to print.

Look, I work for a not-for-profit and I say use them! It's a horrible horrible ploy and I agree, you should not only use them but call back and ask for more. I'm really not kidding here...the portion of our organization that does the telemarketing is mean and surly and gives the rest of us a bad name. And we get the labels dirt-cheap. So use away - if they start spending too much money maybe they'll quit it!

And here I was pissed because we've used all of ours, and my Lady wife had to hand-write our address on all of our holiday correspondence.

Anybody know who I can hit up for some more?

Everything on an address label is readily available in the phone book. Quick - go shred that!

If there weren't people who were concerned about showing up in the phone book, the phone companies wouldn't offer unlisted numbers for a price...
