I am actually hooked on Days of Our Lives
=============
Sammy is with Brandon in Italy looking for the killer of some guy because her ex-husband was part of the murder plot. In finding out this information, Lucus would have to give up custody of their child Austin. She was accused and ended up in jail for the murder but was later released. I missed that part.
Lucus's mom and father, (they aren't married) are in Italy to foil them from finding out the truth.
John found out that he is the father of Hope's baby but it could have been Stephano Demeara's who kidnapped Hope last year and had implanted something in her brain so she could steal art work because she thought she was the princess.
Meanwhile John's wife, also known as Doc, is being offered a radio talk show. She's a psychologist.
Now, Stephano and his evil assistant switch babies at the hospital with the evil assistant's niece who was a drunk. Hope's baby (everyone thinks it's the evil niece's) was adopted by Stepheno's daughter. The evil niece's baby has fetal alcohol syndrome and Hope thinks it's her fault during the time she was under Stephano's spell and can't remember if she drank or not.
I could go on but I might end up writing and entire book.

Anyone else with things you wouldn't admit in real life?

I'm terrified of snails. Why? I dunno. Not like they can catch me if I ran.
I am also a FoodTV junkie. I watch it all--well, except for Bobby Flay. This also ties in with my crush on David Rosengarten.
I enjoy watching infomercials. Oh the shame! I buy almost everything that I see on infomercials. I have a Foodsaver (which is wonderful!!), Victoria Jackson make-up (it sucks, their colors looked like shit), Nad's hair removing wax (isn't as painless as they show on t.v. OUCH), RonCo Food Dehydrator (I love it). I've bought a few other things but would rather forget about what a waste of money they were!

Yeah, but where is it?
I find Chelsea Clinton attractive - not that she isn't, but people look at me weird for finding her attractive.
I had mercy sex with this girl just so she would leave me alone afterwards and I could go to sleep. She was not attractive.

Nad's hair removing wax? Maybe it's because I'm a guy, but OMG, that sounds painful!

Any hair removing wax is painful. No matter how they try to dress it up, you are still ripping it out!
Yeah, but where is it?
Nipples. Okay, so I have two body piercings.

Hey techchick-
I used to be hooked on DOL, also Another World. I bailed, and am still not certain that it was a good decision.
It all started when I spent a month in Ketchikan, AK one week. My friend was getting married up there, and she asked me to come up and make her wedding dress. She would pay for my ticket.
I don't want to offend any Ketchikaners, but that place was the pits. It is on a beautiful island, and would have been great if I could have done some hiking, but I broke my toe the week before I went, (another long story) and couldn't do any hiking.
This was a long time ago, and I am sure that the town has moved on to become a wonderful place. When I went, however, it was........well, let us just say that I was there for a week, and it felt like a month.
Anyway, while I was dutifully sewing away, the only company I had was the TV. My friend had asked for a week of vacation, but at the last minute she was told she couldn't take the time off. At that time, there were only two stations you could watch, and one of them had DOL and AW on in the afternoon.
So there was this story about a girl (Trish) who was in love with Mike Horton (Hope's uncle) but had gotten drunk and spent the night with David Banning,(Hope's stepmom Julie's son.)Of course, she got PG that night. She and David had married, and she was still in love with Mike but was trying to do the right thing. Blahdy, Blahdy, Blah.
I got so hooked that I was upset when I went home and couldn't follow this except on Fridays. (I work 4 tens, M-Th) I didn't have a VCR at the time.
This whole thing led to a 20 year addiction, and along the way I picked up Another World, which BTW I got even more hooked on than DOL.
A few years ago I decided that I was wasting too much time watching two hours of soap opera every night. I went cold turkey, but I have never really gotten completely over the loss. Then, when AW was cancelled, I felt totally guilty and bereft-even if I chose to go back, I couldn't!
So, that is my sad story.
You know, now that I think about it, I guess I have an addiction for the SDMB! Just a case of substituting one addiction for another, maybe?
Sigh,
Scotti

I'm hooked on Guiding Light. Last week I was telling a coworker what was happening on the show. Another person overheard and asked who we were talking about. She thought I had some really juicy gossip and you could see the disappointment when she realized we were talking about a soap opera.

Admit to you people? I don't think there's much I haven't already, at least of the stuff I'd admit to ANYBODY, living or dead, real or virtual. I'll have to think about it some.
. . . Later . . .
Nope. Can't think of anything. I have some wierd likes and dislikes but I'm happy to get defensive about them anytime with anybody.

Drop, my love-
No need to flee love, for one thing, I am a lover-not a fighter. For another, I live in WA state, and am so far from you that if I were to be cross with you, by the time I got to where you are, I would no longer be angry. I have never stayed angry for longer than a few hours. I have never learned the fine art of bearing a grudge. (Thank you, God!)
Besides, all I was wanting to know was whether you were back into flirting mode, or not. I was just thinking that maybe I should email you to see if I should back off, so as not to get you into trouble with your SO-I so don't want your lovely wife to get upset because I enjoy flirting with my oh so sweet and sexy dropzone baby.
You and I realize that I am extremely harmless, but maybe she won't see it that way. And I care about you enough to want to prevent marital discord. what a sap I am!
Anyway, flirt with others all you want. Flirt to your heart's content. I will just sit over in this corner and cry, and learn to be a wallflower because my main man prefers to flirt with other wimmen. Not that there is anything WRONG with that! :D

Sweetheart, my main MonsterMan-
Didn't I just say that he can flirt with whomever he chooses?
After all, I do not have the right to limit the man in any way shape or form.
However, I do have to say that I have never seen the slightest indication that my dropzone baby is interested in men. Not that there is anything WRONG with being interested in men, you understand, I like them myself.
So, how YOU doin', Monster baby?

I too am hooked on DOOL. Have been for 20
years. My two questions right now are:
What's going to happen when Abe & Brandon
find out they are father and son.
What if Nicole is pregnant? She's only

Lucas, her ex-fiance the hunky Eric, and
sleeze Rex.
okay, I'll admit...I enjoy chewing on women!

Well, I posted a coupla most embarrassing moments to Zette's thread on that topic, and then met a bunch of Dopers face to face. This one goes way back and is a little stupid, but...
When my high school jounalism teacher sent us out to sell ads, I would sell one or two ads and then spend the rest of the afternoon driving around in the country in my Jeep.
She never questioned my lack of ad sales--I guess this is because I was being sent to a small redneck town to sell these ads.

Okay, Scotti, where in WA are you. I ask because my parents and brothers abandoned me to Midwest weather and all moved to the Seattle area.
Monster104 said:Scotti, is it alright if dropzone flirts with other guys? Kid, if I were the sort to flirt with guys you'd be high on my list (girls, may I call attention to his Backstreet Boys good looks?) but I'm not so you'll have to ask somebody more that WAY.
TC, sorry I can't relate that much to your DOOL addiction. The only time I watched a soap was when Tony Dow (Wally Cleaver) was on GH in the mid-'70s. And that was because watching him act was akin to watching a train wreck. Bad even by soap standards. And I would get high and watch Match Game.
But you needn't remind me that you were in kindergarten when this was happening.

I am addicted to watching A Baby Story on TLC.
Let's see here...
* I love the show Beavis & Butthead.
* I love South Park
* I loved the Mortal Kombat movie (the first one...the second one really sucked.)
* I like the movie Titanic and the song My Heart Will Go On.
And I'm a guy.
* (This one I am having trouble admitting even here for some reason) I used to be a loyal reader of the "Sonic the Hedgehog" comic book. Until around issue #45, when the whole company started going to hell. But that's a whole other story.

Good morning, hon-
I live about 80 miles directly north of Seattle, about 30 miles south of the Canadian border.
How does your family like it here? From what little I know about the midwest, the weather must be quite different from what they were used to.

My summers are hotter, winters colder, storms stormier, winds windier. They like their weather. Mine annoys me, but this is where the jobs are. I also like seeing the horizon once in a while. All those trees get on my nerves.
