According to this Hollywood Reporter article (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr/television/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001806715) the third season hasn't finished filming yet, but HBO is seriously considering already greenlighting a 4th season!
For those of you who haven't seen this show yet, put it on your Netflix list, or rent it at your local DVD store!
I'm just happy to know it's back in June--best damn show on television.

June? I was hoping for March. June is good though. I've heard we're going to see a Deadwood winter. Anyone want to bet that at least one building will burn down, without Al's help?
Which season did you like best? I'm partial to the first, mostly because of Wild Bill and Reverend Smith, but I liked what they did with Joanie Stubbs in the second season.

I think HBO HAD to greenlight a 4th season of Deadwood. It's their big drama show. Six Feet Under has ended, Sopranos is going soon, Carnivale couldn't get the ratings and was canned. It's Deadwood and Rome (and Rome has some ratings problems as well).

I was hoping that its fourth season would start after The Sopranos, but it looks like Deadwood will take that slot. So I guess The Wire will start in the fall.

I had trouble following all the machinations in season two, but upon a second viewing, I'd put the second season well into the lead.

Do you mean the subplot with Ms. Isringhausen? My head was spinning (along with Dan's) when she and Al worked things out.
I wonder how much was left on the cutting room floor. The Russian telegraph operator didn't have much to do, and the Chinese whores were just left in their cages. Unless Wu plans to take over their care.
And Hofstetler and the N**** General -- they just left? They won't be back? Who's gonna run the livery?

I came in here hoping the goddamned second season was out on DVD, but no such luck, eh?

I was disappointed in season 2 because it wasn't THE MOST AMAZING thing I had ever seen....which is what I thought season 1 was. It was still better than most shows by a loooong shot.

I thought they'd all died and the San Francisco cocksucker burned the bodies. Or maybe that was just some of them?
I just got season one on DVD--I'm waiting for my new HDTV to break it open...
