I want to make a ring, with the coin as it's centerpiece.
I don't care what metal the ring is made of, as long as it is cheap.
What kind of cost am I looking at?
Any online jewelers to do this for me? Again-cheap.
Thanks,
hh

Silver would be cheap. How big is the coin?

Ask a silversmith what the cost would be? What size coin are you thinking of? That will affect cost, since a larger coin could potentially take more metal to create a setting for it.

Though I am not a jeweler, I'm not sure I'd go with a coin much above the size of a penny, MAYBE the size of a nickel. (For me, personally I'd probably go with something no bigger than a dime though.) What coin is it exactly? What size are your hands for that matter as well. Go ask a silversmith (they do still exist) what they could do for you.

Perhaps instead of having one custom made, you might peruse the Internet for coin pendant findings, and sellers of same.

Here (http://www.taxfreegold.co.uk/pendants.html)

are some (http://www.centercoin.com/coin_jewelry/pendants/canadian_maple_leaf_coin_jewelry.htm).

I originally read the title as "Cops to build a ring around a coin?," thinking that the police were coming up with some new anti-counterfeiting measure.

But then... who would counterfeit coins? :dubious:

This place will supply a ring, size to order, you can set your own coin in.
