View Full Version : I'm so sorry (computer help question)

Okay, I know this doesn't belong here, but in my situation, I can't go look for a computer help place.

When I go on the web (well, at least while the browser's open), even when I just let it sit, my computer will completely freeze at any random time (this explains why I can't go look for somewhere else) and I have to restart my computer. Sometimes, I can browse for half an hour, sometimes 5 minutes.

I'm so afraid of this problem, I'm c/p'ing this whole thing from Notepad. Can someone help me, or at least tell me somehwere I can get help?

Does it happen when you're not browsing?

There are a lot of possibilities. here are 2:

1- your system is overheating. Try opening the case and getting more air circulation artound the computer, if that fixes it, look into installing a new or additional fan inside the case

2- your browser might be hosed. In which case, simply reinstall it.

Yeah! That was it. I popped it open, and my CPU fan wasn't even spinning! For now, I have a big one (the only fan I have) face down on top of my whole comp. That should do it... I haven't had a lockup yet. I'll go get a new one tonight.

Thanks!
