Joy-shmoy. Christine Taylor was on, and it appears she will be again.

I especially liked the way her shoes made her calves pop out a little.

I didn't catch that. She was Marcia Brady in the movies I think and Ben Stiller's wife.

You sir, are correct. She's also super hot. I really enjoyed the episode, but missed Joy and Crabman. I need to go find an Office Depot commercial.

For now. I'm just biding my time until I steal her from him.

Okay, you guys forced me to the IMDB: (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0852132/)
Looks like you missed your first opportunity, she was from Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA and Attended Allentown Central Catholic High School (Allentown, PA, USA). Practically a neighbor for you.

Ethan Suplee as Randy impresses me more each week, he can say more with a facial expression than almost any actor I can think of. He probably could have done silent films. He adds so many laughs.
"I really like drinking beer and riding tricycles but if anyone hots be with a paddle, I am going to have to put them down" leading to the scene I always wanted to hear about. Dumb frat shit turned around.

I thought he was just Lee's buddy from the Kevin Smith movies. You know along for the ride. But he is really funny.

It's hard to believe he's the same guy who played the obese nazi skinhead in American History X.

We've all wondered what town Earl lives in. It's obvious that it's filmed in the San Fernando Valley and other L.A. environs. But is his world really and truly "Anytown, U.S.A" or an actually defined location? Tonight we had a chance to find out: did anyone catch his address on the bee-themed postcard at the end? I didn't record the episode; did anyone record it and do a freeze-frame on that?

I thought the best part was watching Randy try to open the laptop. He finally pried it open from the side.

As I said before I went to Frostburg State University so I was looking forward to seeing this one. Unfortunately the cable craped out when they got to FSU. I got to see Earl with the map, which was a real map, but right after that it cut out for a minute. I wanted to see what the campus looked like and if they said anything about any of the buildings. We did get the cable back after a minute or so.

I thought it was a good episode, I hope they go back to Frostburg more often.

Frostburg is in Maryland, and it didn't look he had to drive that far to get there.

As was pointed out to me in another thread, the show's creater Greg Garcia went to Frostburg. They mentioned Hagerstown (also in Maryland) in the episode "Stole Beer From A Golfer."

Greg Garcia also created and wrote for "Yes, Dear" and worked in lots of Maryland references in that show. One character wore a FSU shirt all the time.

It was good, but not as good as it could have been with more of the hotel maid character.
"Randy never thought he would find much satisfaction in watching a bunch of guys spank each other, but to his suprise he did."

When Earl asked if Frostburg was the college that Bullwinkle attended, of course Randy knew immediately that it was Wassamatta U., and that he lived in Frostbite Falls.

That's one of my favorite things about Randy. He does that alot, mixing up movies in a funny way.

My big complaint about this ep?

NOT ENOUGH CATALINA!!!

But then, MOST episodes actually have that quality, but this one seemed particulary Catalina-less. No Catalina makes me a sad panda. :(

Christine Taylor is certainyl very easy on the eyes, but Catalina is easier, especially when dancing at Joy's wedding or doing a mock strip tease with a pool cue (and how about a flashback to when she worked at Club Chubby, huh? Is that so much to ask?!)

I think the Flashback is a very excellent idea.

I especially liked the way her shoes made her calves pop out a little.
I especially liked the way her shoes made her shirt more low cut and gave her significant cleavage.

I really liked the episode. It really hit me how much deaper this show is than most sitcoms. Especially towards the end where Earl was narrating and talking (I think) about how crossing things off the list isn't the most important thing, that being a better person in general was.

This show keeps pumping out great episodes! Last night's may have been my favorite of the entire season.

"Bees? So that's how we're playing now?"

It is funny how he looks up like he is talking to God when he speaks of Karma.

Holy Jesus! I never, never would've made that connection. I saw the movie a few years ago, but I can still picture the guy. Crap, that's weird.

This episode just didn't have as many laughs for me as usual. I was really annoyed that he didn't take an hour to go fix the bus stop, and then join his proto-girlfriend at the party. I mean, it didn't start 'til 2 pm, that leaves him plenty of time.

Well, with your logic or mine, The Weird One, it might be possible to fix the sign and still get to the party. But we know from past episodes that for Earl, getting up early means getting up before noon. ;)

I'm just so happy that this show is popular. Most shows with a "good message" are godawful tripe like 7th Heaven that anyone with half a brain can only watch ironically. Think about it: it's a show that promotes goodness, personal responsibility and acceptance of all kinds of people, but it's also funny and has likable, relatable characters and doesn't suck at all. Amazing.

Didn't Earl say it was going to take him all night to drive there? If that was the case I guess he didn't want to be up all night driving back and forth.

I also just found out, because of my cable problems, that the were walking to Dunkle Hall, I think 75% of my classes were there. He was also in Diehl Hall, my best friend from College lived there the first year. Now I can't wait until it's either repeated or it comes out on DVD.

I don't know if it was all night, but it was definitely a significant drive; at least a few hours each way.

This was the first episode that I really noticed that Earl is telling the story in past tense. And they way he refered to the professor in the narration seemed like he either did end up with her or atleast they are close friends.

Heh - I liked that.

I also liked the beginning, where Randy puts on the dead guy's hat and then pulls out a tube and reads "lice cream", and throws it away because he doesn't need it. Went sailing right over The Mister's head. :p

I think the little cynical or subversive touches go a long way towards making the show work -- sort of how like candy floss's ridiculous sweetness is repellent to anyone with a bit of taste, while the way that the sweetness of good chocolate is mitigated by the bitterness of cocoa gives it some appeal for people with a more refined palate. :D

Ha! I just remembered my favourite bit: When the student that Earl punched asked how he'd know when the hash brownies were kicking in. "Believe me, you'll know." --and then the knock at the door and that fantastic prosthetic make-up job. "I think it's kicking in!" "Cool." "No! Not cool!"

Bwahahaha. "It wants me to punch him!"

Earl quick! The fishes are back again!

That laptop had one hell of a battery, considering it spent a year in the hands of people who knew so little they didn't understand what the screensaver was. They didn't seem to have a way to charge it up, and probably didn't know they needed to.

And they didn't need beat the joke to death. That's what I like best about this show.
He just put on the hat, read the label on the tube, "Huh, lice cream. I don't need that." And Cataline pocketed it because she knew he would be needing it later. End of joke. I like when stuff is subtle.

Oh, and the screen saver thing was a riot, even though that wasn't as subtle.
"The fishes are back!"

I'm so glad I have DVR. I missed Randy's funniest line of the night, after eating a Jell-O shot

I am so embarrassed. I missed it too. And I thought about it for a second! I wasn't focusing on the hat! I was focusing on Catalina's expression.

Slinking away in shame here, because it wasn't that sly....
