okay, thanks for 'splaining it to me. I once tried to guess how the scoring works, but couldn't figure it out..

But will somebody please explain to me why this is considered fun? I can see why the rock-thrower-person has to be skilled at aiming,etc. But how much fun is it for the sweepers? I just don't get it.

But I suppose it's better than the 2-man luge............

I don't think Americans are physically equipped to grasp the subtle Zen of curling. The name itself is a mystery into which Yanks cannot pry, and the very notion of brooms on ice sits somewhere between Mona Lisa's smile and David Hasselhoff's career in Germany in the realm of Inscrutable Foreign Mysteries. But the difficulty involved is obvious, and the possibility someone might slip and fall on their ass is entertainment enough when the only alternative is Katie Couric.Damn, but I hate Katie Couric.
