Was there EVER a movie version of Asimov's "FOUNDATION" trilogy? If such a film was made, does anyboy have any reviews of it?
This is something I've always wanted!

The short answer is "no". For details on all films involving Asimov's work, click here (http://www.clark.net/pub/edseiler/WWW/asimov_FAQ.html#morethan2-2).

I don't know of any movie versions of "Foundation". There HAVE been student film versions and small company versions of some of Asimov's other stories and novels. I recall one student film of one of his robot stories (but I can't remember which), and a version of "The Ugly Little Boy". Both were pretty good. The film version of "Nightfall" was an abomination unto Campbell that we should all ignore -- and it wasn't even at all faithful. (There was a pretty decent AUDIO adaptation done by Analog back in the 1970's, as well as a stage play version in the Boston area circa 1976) The only Big Studio adaptation I know of is the recent "Bicentennial Man", which I liked more than the critics did.
I'd like to see them film Harlan Ellison's screenplay for "I, Robot". THAT would be something.

It seems that there is some action on a "Foundation" film. There is a writeup in corona: http://www.corona.bc.ca/films/filmlistingsFramed.html
(Click on Listings By Name and then search for "Foundation.")
It does not look good if the quote they give is correct.
