Imagine this: You're in a karaoke bar with everybody that you might want to impress and everybody's attention is on you, 'cause you're up next. Somehow, you get to choose to perform one song perfectly in any kind of way. Which song would you choose and why?

Note: the song will be performed in your voice, only that your voice is magically enhanced so that it perfectly encapsules the atmosphere and technicalities of the song.

Me, I'd choose Otis Redding's I love you more than words can say.

I have 3 hypothetical karaoke songs I know I could do spot on if I only had the cajones to get up there.

The Clash-Should I Stay or Should I go
Them-Gloria
Iggy Pop-Lust For Life

"Wonderful Tonight", Eric Clapton. Then maybe I could finally get on stage (http://www.0830.org/) and stop getting bugged every single time I go out.

One that I do close to perfect is Journey's, Open Arms. If anything I'd like that magic enhancement to make the high notes a little stronger for me. :)

I can envision myself doing a kickass version of Cry Me a River or Fever. In my dreams, I am Julie London and Peggy Lee rolled into one red-hot package. In reality, I am a schlumpy senior citizen whose main singing is done to entertain my dogs.

Rockabye Your Baby With a Dixie Melody, belting like the offspring of Al Jolson and Judy Garland.

It would probably have to be a David Bowie song for me. Maybe Starman. Or maybe Cuts You Up by Peter Murphy.

Mack the Knife, a la Sinatra, rather than Cole or Darin. Or certainly Westlife.

"The Man That Got Away" -- Judy Garland

There are others, but that's at the top of the list.

Me and Bobby McGee. I'm ok at it, but I wish I could rock it.

"Oh! Darling," by the Beatles. It's not my favorite song in the world, but it's dead wrong for my voice and I wish I could hack it.
