Just how long is a freaking hangover supposed to last, anyway??? It 4:30pm and I have no had a drink for over 13 hours. My head is killing me and I think I am actually starting to feel drunk again. I am getting numb, slow, dizzy... Is this right? Normal? WTF!!! Are hangovers supposed to last all god damn day? I have no idea. I have never had one before. Please tell me I will get better eventually...
Help me out by putting this hangover to shame, please. I mean, I haven't even thrown up or anything and I have been out and about all day. I thought I was fine, but sitting here at the computer... I am really starting to feel bad. Tell me about how you had a hangover that lasted all weekend and you threw up a lymph node or something.
I am going to go lay down now... I will check this thing again tonight. CRAP!!! As I am typing it is getting progressively worse. I thought these things were supposed to start bad and then get better, not the other way around.
...Man I am such a wimp huh?

Bear, twice now I have had hangovers that lasted Three Days. I'm quite serious. There is something in gold Tequila that makes me vomit like I have the flu for three friggin' days. White tequila - no problem. Gold tequila - don't get in my way. The first time it happened, I thought I did have the flu. The second time, I figured there was just too much of a coincidence there. Haven't drunk the stuff since.
You have my sympathies, if it helps.

I had a champagne-induced hangover that lasted for about 2 days. I highly recommend drinking as much Gatorade as you can handle and staying in a dark, quiet room until tomorrow.

Oh, and send the strippers home.

Bear, in my college days I had a couple of hangovers drag on over 36 hours or so, but that was usually after an all weekend type of affair (so it was probably a combination of hangover and lack of sleep).
Back then, if we were still hungover at 6-7pm we'd just head right back to the bar. After a couple beers the hangover was gone. As long as we didn't get out of hand (like we had obviously done the prior night) the following day was much better.
My worst hangover lasted two days as well. The bad part of it was, was that it was the first hangover I'd ever had (at age 19). Until then I'd been merrily quaffing up to 10 shots of whiskey with no ill effects. Bumping it up to 3/4 of a (750 ml) bottle to celebrate my JYA university exams, however, was just asking for it. For awhile I thought all hangovers lasted that long.
At one point some friends came round to ask if I was alright (I don't even remember which day of the hangover it was). I got out of bed to greet them, and before I could say anything puked in the nearby sink before collapsing onto the floor. The next thing I knew, they were attempting to put me back into bed--and promptly dropped me back onto the floor instead.
Take care, Bear. I guess the fact that you can actually manage to post means that you're probably back on the way to good health again :)

What the hell am I doing back on this board already?? Damnit, I wish I never found this thing! They should have a 12 step program for the SDMB.
Anyway, KimKatt made me realize sometihng. I actually had a beer last night. I never had beer before, maybe that is why I did not have a hangover before. My friend just gave it to me and I could not taste it, so I drank it. Man, beer tastes awful.. It was only one bottle though. But I am not sure how much liquor I had all together.

Well, the longest I've had is until 7:00 the following evening. But one time I still had the headache part for about a week. That was probably due more to the fact that while drunk I was banging my head against a table, amused at the fact that it didn't hurt.

Liquor does two things to your body: It dehydrates you, and it breaks down your sugars. Replenish these two items and the hangover effect will decrease.
My personal method is orange Gatorade and a king-sized Snickers bar. The only reason I do the Gatorade, though, is that plain water first thing in the morning after a drunk does NOT go down well at all.

At 17 I drank an entire fifth of Canadian Mist in about 15 minutes.
I then was taken to the mall by "friends". It was not pretty.
I woke up a day later, and stayed hung over for 2 and a half days total, unable to eat and barely able to drink even water.

The longesthangover I ever had was about 24 hours, I'm sure it would have lasted much longer, but by then I was so tired of being hangover I decided it was easier to get drunk again.
