I am going to be making a triangle trip to Ottawa and Montreal after February 10th. Details remain to be worked out, but I'm stopping in Bancroft for a party on Saturday the 10th, and then heading east along Highway 7. Anyone want to meet?

Sure, could be a preparation for Sugardope.

That would be good, since unfortunately it's looking like I'll not be able to make it for Sugardope (they're holding Federal Council at the same time).

When is Sugardope? I'd like to meet a few Montreal dopers, though I don't think I can make it to anything in Ottawa. Although I do plan to go up there at the end of February, but that's just to visit a friend! Since I have seen her twice in the past 4-5 years, I figure I owe the whole trip to seeing her!

I'm in!

Incidentally, I have ties to all of the places you mentioned - I live in Montreal now, I used to live in Ottawa, my Dad has a cottage near Bancroft on Papineau Lake, and Highway 7 is a major artery running through my hometown of Peterborough.... :p

This is too weird.

I just read the SugarDope thread... looks like I'll be on another course that weekend and the following ones, so this trip may be it.

I'll know more after talking to a couple of Ottawa (non-Doper) people this week. And I need to book holidays... and I don't want to do that until my performance review at work is over. :: shudder ::

That is so cool. I wonder if we know any of the same people.

Saturday and Sunday evenings I'm in the office, but may be able to duck out for an hour. Keep us advised...

So, when do you expect to arrive in town ?

Alas! Alas! Thanks to certain family events, I must postpone this trip until March. However, I have put a firmer date on it in March. I will be taking a building-code course at Loyalist College on the last two wekends of March, and sometime during the week between (the 26th to the 29th of March), I will be making my visits.

So now we have to counter-plot evilly as well?

All this evil stuff is so time-consuming... *sigh*

Well!

I will be in Montréal on Tuesday (and probably Wednesday, pending accomodation Tuesday night). Anyone still want to meet? (Sorry, I know it's short notice...)

This is what happens when you absolutely need to get out of Toronto to save your sanity...

Yay!
I'm now in Ottawa at a frend's house. I plan to arrive in Montreal tomorrow late morning (11:30 ish), on the bus from Ottawa. I'll be staying overnight at the home of a fellow Esperanto speaker, then returning to Toronto on Wednesday afternoon. So Would you folks be up for meeting tomorrow afternoon or early evening? (I'll email matt_mcl.)

I am free after work (5 PM). I can be downtown by 5:45, is a dinner thing a good idea maybe?

Ok well I will be in touch with matt_mcl on his cellphone, and my work e-mail is ekuehnba at amscan dot com, so if you make any plans during the day, let me know.

I am sure people will be by with suggestions for restaurants, but here are a few places I know of downtown:

* Curry House
* Three Amigos
* Dunn's deli
* Le Commensal
* Baton Rouge

Or, you can go to The Village, which has a handful of places as well, like St. Hubert, Bato Thai, and Le Planète.

That would work for me too. I'm usually home from work at around 4 PM. And dinner sounds good for me too.

Because of Scott's travel arrangements I'll suggest the village for dinner. Do we like Thai?

Hi!

I'm on a Bell internet terminal at the Ottawa bus station posting this, and it won't let me get to my Rogers email! Arrgghh! So I can't check my email. If matt_ncl or kung fu lola could contact me at the cellphone number I emailed last night, then we could connect.

Thai sounds good, too. :)
