Have you had your 15 minutes of fame as Andy Warhol promised? Or do your friends regard you as the doormat of life? Here's your damn chance to prove Andy the sage prophet of our time. Get your name in lights on the front page of The Straight DopeŽ (http://www.straightdope.com)! Hear your moniker spoken alongside The Great Cecil Adams. Win the respect of millions, the Teeming Millions, anyway. This could be your last chance at a pathetic excuse for sucking up valuable oxygen. And all this is offered to you FREE for a limited time only from your friends here at The Straight DopeŽ. That's right, FREE! You can achieve all this fame and fortune, or at least the promised 15 minutes, just by submitting to TubaDiva (mailto:TubaDiva@aol.com) a nomination for The Straight DopeŽ Threadspotting feature. That's TubaDiva (mailto:TubaDiva@aol.com), TubaDiva (mailto:TubaDiva@aol.com), TubaDiva (mailto:TubaDiva@aol.com)!

Back to the top for another day of fun and games. I want all of you to feel free to probe back to the dark, dusty reaches of the SDMB cupboard. If ya need a flashlight, just ask, you can borrow mine. It probably needs new batteries though.
Again, that's TubaDiva (mailto:TubaDiva@aol.com), TubaDiva (mailto:TubaDiva@aol.com), TubaDiva (mailto:TubaDiva@aol.com)!

Step right up to the plate folks. Take a chance to put one over the fence of fame. To increase your chances, for today only, we have grandma pitching big fat punkin' balls at ya. This should be just like the home-run derby at MLB's All-Star game.

That was your 4000th post?
I was hoping for the meaning of life.

Punkin' balls? Count me in!

With a side order of...
The 4000th post reference had me confused for a minute.

More? I couldn't even get through the pages already there to see if one of my threads is in it. Doubtful -- I'm more of a hit and run poster than a clever thread starter.
I do remember a thread that I really like, but I have no odea of the title or author. It basically asked the question, "If a masochist accidentally stubs his toe, is it a pleasant surprise?"
