My favorite movie is "Meet the Feebles" which was written and directed by the great Peter Jackson (currently working on the Lord of the Rings movies) Anyway "Meet the Feebles" is basically a bash the muppets movie. The frog does herion and every one does some kind of devient act. Jackson is from New Zealand, I heard that they HATE the muppets there and this is why he made the movie. Why do they hate the muppets? It wasn't that bad (except for the Mark Hammel episode) was it?

Why do the French love Jerry Lewis?

Let me get this straight: You don't understand what anyone would have against the Muppets, and yet your favorite movie is dedicated to bashing them? I don't get it.

And for the record, I take offense at that, LazarusLong42.

It's my favorite movie due to the fact that there are acts of extreame violence and drug use done by puppets. There isn't one human in the movie, it's great! It is also extreamly funny, puppets having Nam flashbacks makes me laugh...

American's love britney spears on MUTE, at least I do...

I am a New Zealander and I am not aware of any great hatred of muppets as a defining feature of the NZ cultural ethos.

Sheep shagging, hatred of the Aussies, yes. Some US puppet show, no.

I liked _Bad Taste_ myself. Esp the scene where the aliens used the guy's head as a party dip

As a New Zealander I can assure you that the Muppets were/are very popular here. I think that this must be an UL.

The whole Meet the Feebles thing is, I think, just a bit of Peter Jackson's weird sense of humor. If you see his first film, Bad Taste, you see a lot of the same kind of thing.

PS Lord of the Rings is looking pretty good. I've seen a lot of pictures of some very good full size sets. Also the political correctness brigade have been told to f**k off when they suggested that pipe smoking not be shown in the movie.

I will have to go with the theory that Peter Jackson is just one truly disturbed man. I absolutely love Heavenly Creatures and I even like Bad Taste (except for the "chunky bits" part--urp!) but Meet the Feebles is just wrong.

Horrible, disgusting, deranged, revolting and bad.

(Although, I must admit a certain appreciation for the "sodomy" song--rather creative. However, just give me the soundtrack and don't make me endure the visual horror that is that film!)

Speaking as an American, we have a long line of loving talentless yet beautiful people. Its our freakin right.

Britney ? Here is the question to ask : would anyone care if she wasn't hot ? Nope. In three years she will be doing movies no one cares about and perhaps one big selling "PlayBoy" issue.

"Stand back, boy! This calls for divine intervention... I kick arse for the Lord!" - from Brain Dead

Peter Jackson kicks ass. Meet the Feebles is new to me though. I'm gonna see if my videostore has it! Muppets on Dope?? I am SO there!

No. Not Muppets on Dope. The actual Muppets were Muppets on Dope, it seems like.

These are Muppets on Crack!
Crack and Heroin!
Crack, heroin, and methamphetamines!
Crack, heroin, methamphetamines, and some seriously heavy prescription drugs.
Crack, heroin, methamphetamines, some seriously heavy prescription drugs, and a really fiendish caffeine and nicotine habit!
Crack, heroin, methampetamines, some seriously heavy prescription drugs, a really fiendish caffeine and nicotine habit, and a case of cheap liquor!

I could go on. But the image of that big walrus fucking that other puppet on the desk just crept into my head and it's all I can think about.

I have this on DVD.

I love it.

Bassically imagine a muppet show reunion in twenty years and all of the muppets are a little older and worse for wear. Then imagin them doing drugs. Having sex (walrus and cat my favorite combo) making porno films, getting STDs, and ten a climax of a 7 foot tall hippo going on a shooting spree.
(oh and there is music!) Basically the Muppet show with specila guest star Hunter S. Thompson.

How can you like Jackson's other movies and think Feeble's is wrong? Was the Zombie sex in BrainDead ok with you? Bad taste is Ok, but Feebles and BrainDead are so much better!! Now if he can just bring that to Lord of the Rings we'll be all set!

I was living in Christchurch when _Heavenly Creatures_ was made and there were a lot of nervous people wondering what he would do with the story. My mother was a teenage girl at the time of the murder and her mother used to clip the stories out of the paper so she didn't get ideas ;)

My step daughter is in _Heavenly Creatures_. OK you can't actually see her but she is there somewhere on the edge of the crowd....................

I cannot explain it. My husband absolutely loves the Feebles so I have seen it numerous times. The only thing I can figure is that it must be because I have a strange fear/anxiety toward grotesque puppetry. I hate scary looking clown puppets and I'm really actually more than a little creeped out by those puppets (whose name escapes me at the moment) that had their own show for a while and were featured in the Genesis video for "Land of Confusion." Meet the Feebles just seriously messes with my psyche.

Loved brain dead, the feebles just didnt inspire me. Too much stuff that was just bent. Muppets werent meant to have sex. Ever heard of carpet burn? And the fly reporter.. Too much close up of shiteating.
Zombie sex, now there is a necrophiliacs delight.
Brain dead was great, while the feebles destroys my happy muppet memories. I also thought it was kind of dull. I only managed to get halfway through it.
Puss custard... Oh you crazy New Zealanders.

Australian. Why we ever let John Howard do anything is beyond me.

Nagdabbit, RESOL, you beat me to it. BadMovies.org is one of my favorite sites. Here (http://www.badmovies.org/movies/badtaste/index.html) is the page for Bad Taste.
