My very first morning in the USA, back when I was 11, my Uncle demonstrated a trick with a Land O Lakes box. He cut 2 slits where the Native American woman is holding up her own pack of butter and slotted through it her knees, cut from another side of the box. The effect is a woman cupping her ample bosom which can be jiggled about by manipulating the strip of card holding her knees. Is this a well known trick, and are there any others you know of?

I knew about that trick back in the 1960's.

My stepfather used to cut around the sides and bottom of the box of butter she was hoilding with her knees taped to the inside of the box. It was like a one page lift-the-flap book.

I only found out about it a few years ago, but it is well-known.

I've come across two places on the 'net where people, unhappy with the size of that ample bosom (actually her knees) have photoshopped or redrawn them so they're bigger.

A friend in Detroit showed me that trick with the butter back in the 70's; it had been given to her by her boss, who happened to be a Catholic priest.

And here I go, opening the thread because I thought it was about butter. :dubious:

Well, that just makes up for the times you open threads expecting boobies and get those stupid seabirds...

Years ago, Amy Sedaris did the Land O' Lakes boobs thing on the Conan O'Brien show.

Is this a well known trick, and are there any others you know of?It's well-known enough that when I saw the thread title, I guessed that that would be what this thread was about.

I know how to take a dollar bill and, by judicious folding, turn George Washington into a mushroom, but that's not quite as exciting.

Speaking of tricks with money, have you tried this (http://www.snopes.com/rumors/20bill.htm) ?

Upon further review, that link also shows the butter trick.

Some day I'll learn to read everything on the page.

We've gone long enough without a visual:

There is a very simple way of creasing the Canadian bills that make the Queen smile or frown when you tilt it. I will let a Canadian give a better explanation and/or pics. It's been a while.

So this isn't the place to wax rhapsodic about the glory that is the irreplaceable no-substitutes-accepted Lightly Salted Land O'Lakes butter?

Yeah well there's that one urban legend that if you take a Red Dog beer label and turn it upside down, it's supposed to be Batman going down on Wonder Woman or something. . .

. . . a coincidence if you ask me. You really gotta look for it.

Put on your 'Pablo Picasso Goggles', and maybe you'll see it.

Does anyone else suspect that this was a deliberate feature of the logo design? I mean, why else would an artist put æreolae on knees?

What areolae? That's what always creeped me out about this gag--what happened to that poor woman's nipples!?

I grew up with Land o Lakes butter, and I never heard of this before. Such a sheltered life, no boobs with my breakfast...

Isn't there also a way to do so with just folding the container? I could have sworn that's how my dad showed it to my sister and our cousin.

Not only have I heard of this, but back in junior high, my English teacher would give the Land O' Lakes award to the girl whose boobs had grown the most over the course of the school year.

I wish I were kidding.

Bring me the butter.
[/MB]This reminds me of an advertising campaign in NZ many years ago.

The tagline was Butter - good for your buns

The image - two round buns, one resting on the other to form something like a pair of buttocks, and a roundtipped knife, tip loaded with butter, making an approach.

I nearly choked the first time I saw it. My wife never understood why it always made me crack up. I wasn't up to explaining.
