Am I likely to get almost any TUESDAY Broadway show at TKTS?

Hopefully this is self-explanatory for New Yorkers and seasoned visitors. I am planning a trip which would put us in Manhattan on a Monday and Tueday night in July. Broadway is dark on Mondays, so obviously Tuesday is our only choice if we want to go to a show.

The question is, are Tuesdays less likely to sell out, and therefore are Tuesday tickets more likely to be sold at the TKTS booths? From their website I note that they've had tickets for Spamalot (our first choice) in the last week, but I don't know for which day(s).

I hate to order tickets in advance and pay full boat if I can save over $100 for two tickets. But I also don't want to disappoint Pagan Teen.

I'm not sure if you'd have a better chance getting tickets on a Tuesday (most shows start at 7pm that day, so that may factor in) but I wanted to let you know that there are a couple shows that play on Monday. Spring Awakening, Avenue Q, Rent & Phantom of the Opera all have a Monday 8pm show.

You did't mention when the trip is. This is tourist season and right after the Tony Awards tomorrow, so some shows will be selling very well. But Tuesday is typically a slow night on Broadway.

Regarding Monday: I'm considering other plans for Monday night - I've got in a note to the Bitter End to see if their NY Songwriter Circle shows (every other Monday night) have age restrictions. I know that some shows at the Bitter End do not. The lady who organizes the Circle lived a few doors down from me when we were kids - I saw her there a few years ago. But I had no teenager in tow last time.

Have they completed the construction of TKTS yet? Unless I'm much less observant than I thought I was, I believe the booth in Duffy Square hasn't re-opened yet. I'm not saying there isn't a TKTS, just that it might not have moved into it's rebuilt home.

Well, how cool is that?

Phantom should be a good one. You'd love Avenue Q, but you couldn't take T-Pagan to it - just a little TOO adult-oriented (unless you WANT to explain why Gary Coleman is serenading Muppets having sex to her, that is). And I think she would love the instrumentalist's haven that is Dr. Hal's place - K-Pagan probably less so.
