Amelia Earhart and Charles Lindbergh were the two biggest icons of the late 20's and early 30's and yet, all the info that I've read on the internet points to a fact that I find hard to believe. I can't find any article relating to a meeting of these two aviation giants. Any aviation historians out there that know otherwise?

Earhart's personal papers are housed at Purdue University, and a quick search reveals at least one photo of Earhart and Lindbergh together (http://earchives.lib.purdue.edu/cdm4/item_viewer.php?CISOROOT=/earhart&CISOPTR=684&CISOBOX=1&REC=1), from July 1929. I'd also note that there is an awful lot of correspondence in the collection between Earhart and Anne Morrow Lindbergh, Charles Lindbergh's wife.

Earhart's husband, George Putnam, was Lindbergh's publisher.
