titled "English Passengers" by Matthew Kneale.

In fact, I might go out on a limb and say that of all the books I've read set in 19th century Van Dieman's land, featuring Manxmen prominently among their protagonists, this may in fact be the best.

Well, there aren't many of them, because we all know that the Manx have no tales.

Ouch!

Yet ANOTHER example of Manx inhumanity to Manx.

I guess it's wrong that no Manx is a island?

Not according to Karl Manx. Or was that Mannix?

Manxmen?

I just had a visual of a Flash Gordon episode.

*shudder*

(Dinsdale. You knew we were going to do this to you, didn't you?) :)

Truly? I'm shocked. I'm amazed. I very nearly swooned with delight. This could be the start of an entire new genre in literature, featuring Manxmen as the noble protagonist.

Sure it's only one novel. But it's a start.

It's one small step for Manx. One giant leap for Manxkind.
