Just about 6-1/2".

I'm female. I didn't have a non-bending measure, so I used a soft measuring tape, like you'd use for sewing. I measured from the first crease of my wrist (where the palm ends) to the tip of my middle finger and got 7 inches. My middle finger is just a hair under 3 inches. I usually wear a ladies' medium glove and my ring size is 6.5.

I have the smallest hands in my family, and now I feel like I have gorilla mitts.

From the tip of my middle finger to my crease of wrist is just over 6." Just about the same as the circumference of my wrist, actually. I can't figure out what this "from web between ring and middle finger to tip of middle finger" is measuring, sorry.

I think the second measurement is highly dependent on how flexible your hand is and the placement/length of your thumb. I can span 9''.

In any case, my 'male' measurement is nearly an inch shorter than my hand length so it is not too accurate for me.

I barely have a 10th on a piano, meaning my hand stretches over 11 keys when laid flat. 11 * 23.5mm = 258.5 mm ≈ 10 inches width fully spread. About half that is my palm width, so 5 inches. My longest finger covers 4 keys, and is therefore 4 inches. And I am 6'2''-6'3'' depending on whether the measurement is done by a tailor or a doctor.

I always thought I had big/long hands for a woman, but looking at this thread, they're not unusual. I don't think hand length has much to do with perceived size of hands. 'Man hands' on women are usually thought to be thick and sturdy. My hands are longish (as long or longer than most men - I like to compare) but skinny, so they don't look 'big' to anyone but me. I'm a really small person and I don't think my hands are proportionate to the rest of me.
