So, after almost twenty years of working for the Department of Defense as Active Duty and a civilian, I decided to fish around and see if I could find a job closer to home. I currently commute 55 miles from Denver to the Air Force Academy. This would be a commute of six miles.
This morning the USGS called to set up an appointment for Wednesday! My resume was forwarded on as "Best Qualified" which would actually be "Hellmans Qualified" for you dopers East of the Rockies!
***(happy dance)***
It's a Public Affairs/Multimedia Producer position with a promotion potential to GS-12!
I told myself I wouldn't get too excited until I got through the process to the interview, as anyone who has worked or applied for a government job can attest, it is an agonizingly long wait.
Yay me!
Wish me luck!
