Someone here once posted a pic of a .22 pistol which I believe was from the 1950's that looked rather futuristic, in a 1950's way. Very sleek and ray gun looking.

I have the hankerin for a new .22 auto and wanted to see if I could find one.

The Colt Woodsman Target (http://colt22.com/1mt.jpg) is semi-modernistic I guess.

True enough, but this wasn't a huge brand like a Colt or a Ruger. This was the first time I'd ever heard of or seen the pistol.

Nevermind, didn't see the '50s requirement.

Undoubtedly not the thing you're looking for, but whenever someone says something like "futuristic pistol" I think Gyrojet (http://www.genitron.com/unique13.html).

I believe the pistol you are looking for is a Whitney Wolverine (http://xavierthoughts.blogspot.com/2006/01/whitney-wolverine-range-report.html).

Well hey now, Amp went and found it. Thanks for bumping me on this one, that's exactly the pistol I was thinking of. Thanks again!

Just a word of caution. If you are thinking about buying this gun try and find a range that will let you rent one first or buy an original one and not the re-issue. I tried one out a few weeks ago when I was looking for a .22 for my son and it jammed every single time. The store manager said it was the worse piece of crap he had ever seen. I settled on a used Ruger MK II instead.

Only an original will do, but I'll heed that advice. Gunbroker.com has no current listings. Any suggestions on somewhere else to look on-line?
