I don't really think he's so terrible. Check out his responses on the Why I'm Boycotting Walmart, Gun Control?, Too easy to get guns nowadays, and Second Ammendment Infringement. While I don't totally agree with him on these issues, it doesn't seem to me that he is trolling.

The John 3:16 question was an attempt to understand something that I did not understand. Yes I looked it up and knew what it said, but could not form an understanding of why it appears at sporting events - so I asked.

Mullinator, what's the point of all this? You read two or three posts by someone and then run to the pit in an effort to decry him? Thanks, but there are actually some people on this board that really don't take this that seriously and need to be notified whenever you come across a few posts with which you don't agree. The pit, at least from what I understand, is a place to go either when arguments get way too heated for any other board or a place to speak out against people or things in society you have developed a deep seated antipathy for over a long period of time. Look at your post! It isn't even really a flame. You're even somewhat polite about it. "Forgive me if I missed someone..." People who run around on newsgroups, forums, and message boards crying, "This guy's a troll! That girl's a troll!" need to lighten the hell up or at least find a hobby with more human contact. Remember that you are not obligated to read the posts of people you find annoying.

Well, how can I now possibly live with myself. I want to apologize to all SDMB posters for being so callous and thoughtless to have driven out a worthwhile and insightful denizen like 1420. I now feel the need to deliver 40 lashes with a wet noodle to my own backside and then promptly restrict myself from bad thoughts regarding 1420. I also promise to send him a complete book of homonyms to avoid any of those embarrassing waste/waist issues again.

I am not a "pit person", so please take this with a grain of salt. But just this once, I couldn't resist putting in my two cents.
I haven't been here long and I haven't posted often. I'm not a regular or popular poster by anyone's standards. However, I'm sticking in my nose where it doesn't belong on this one. I read a couple of this guy's posts, and IMHO, he doesn't seem that bad. This whole "troll" thing seems pretty out of control though. Palidors and The Fucking Horn Dog were goofballs, but I have seen a lot of really nasty comments from regulars here (The Troll Patrol?) who seem to want to rid this area of anyone they dislike, or don't already know. It's no skin off my teeth, but it seems that many folks just don't want to give anyone new a chance. The SDMB is one of the most intelligent, diverse and interesting places I have found on the Net. It is a shame that a few elitists want to turn this into private property, available only to those they deem their intellectual equals.
Go ahead and flame me. Perhaps I should have stayed out of this, but this is something that really bothers me. I truly like coming here, and most everything I have read here has been enlightening or entertaining. But for a few mean-spirited, boorish hall monitors, it would be a lot more enjoyable.

Check the dates jane...we all agreed with chief crunch...a weekago! The thread was dead, and if 1420had not started flaming again, nobody would have even remembered.

Even I said to give him a chance...he wasnt that obnoxious or anything, just a bit misguided by the looks of his posts.

But now, here he is, stirring the pot. Jane, he obviously likes the attention- otherwise he wouldnt have returned after more than a week just to head right for the pit and pick a fight. He doesnt bother me, but I think he is trying to stir up some action among the TM.....

I guess time will tell.

The only real troll on this site is C#3.
