Ok, I give. How does one create 'superscript' text and text that has a line drawn through it?

Fight my ignorance, please.

I don't know about the other stuff, but strike-through works like this

text

which is:

[ del]text[/del] without the space before the d in del.

Find the text you like, and hit the "reply with quote" button. All will be clear.

All vB code tags (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/misc.php?do=bbcode). No one ever seems to notice this is linked to in the Posting Rules box near the bottom of the page.

On my computer, it's all green. Why is that? [Windows Vista, IE7]

On my computer, it's all green. Why is that? [Windows Vista, IE7]Because MSIE honors standards more in the breach than the observance. Only Microsoft knows why but the rest of us have some good ideas.

OK, OK... {sup}text{/sup}; replace { with [ and } with ]

Subscripting is the same but with "sub" instead of "sup."
Helps when people get anal about things like H2O.
