Since this looks a bit like an attempt to get homework done, I will only go so far as to note that one can look such things up quite nicely at this wonderful site (https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/index.html). Have fun!

Freedom House has a fairly standard barometer of democratization used in the political science world. According to their rating system, Yemen is not a democracy. On a 1-7 scale, with 1 being most democratic and 7 being least, they give Yemen a 5. For comparison, Sweden is a 1, Albania is a 3, Venezuela is a 4, Russia is a 5.5, China is a 6.5, and North Korea is a 7.They have a country profile ( http://www.freedomhouse.org/inc/content/pubs/fiw/inc_country_detail.cfm?year=2007&country=7304&pf) which explains their reasoning.
