How do I get a banner on my website?

I am looking for a pay-per-click banner.

I am also in Australia.

How do I go about doing this?

Decide on the sponsor you want. Go to the sponsor's website. There will be a link called "webmasters", "advertise our site", or something similar. Click on the link. Fill out the form. When you are registered, copy the HTML they (probably) provide into your page.

A friend of mine runs adult websites for a living. He says that "click-through" programs for that industry are becomming fewer, and that the money is being made with partnership programs. For example, on his non-adult sites he may advertise amazon.com. If someone buys one of the items he's advertising, he gets a small percentage of the sale.
