View Full Version : I saw a great vanity plate today!

It's Not Rocket Surgery!

On my way to work this morning, I saw a vanity license plate (Ohio) that said: GRR ARGH. That's great!

For those of you that were just whooshed, here's the reference. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutant_Enemy_Productions)

Too funny. I am just introducing my son to Buffy and when an episode finishes, he never wants me to skip to the next one - he wants to see the Mutant Enemy bit...

My favorite ever was a New Hampshire (http://www.dred.state.nh.us/divisions/forestandlands/bureaus/naturalheritage/graphics/NHMooseTHANKS.jpg) plate:
& SQURRL

It made one person smile on a dark and stormy morning on Rte. 3.

Runner up is "PMGRL" on a cute little Mercedes convertible. Mom and I just looked at each other and I sighed, "I wonder how she makes her living".

[I love the VW one.]

I saw my favorite on a beat-up Delorean (a find in and of itself!): FLUXING. I've got a picture of it somewhere.

I'd love to see the pic! I've always dreamed of having one. When I was a teenager, my brother and I decided that mine would have a license plate that says "ERTHANGL." His DeLorean would have a plate the read "SLACKER." Our favorite movie of all time--the one thing my little brother and I could agree on.

I love it, but can you really get "&" on a NH plate? Here in WI we can have only alphanumerics. (Was it pasted on or something?)

ETA: Apparently you can, according to the NH DMV. D'oh!

Some of these I don't get.

I saw a BMW with "NI KAP" in a hospital car park last year. This being Northern Ireland, I'm not 100% sure whether it belongs to an orthopaedic surgeon or a paramilitary boss.

I saw 'RANDMA', and I didn't get it until I saw that it was a Green Bay Packer plate with the logo on the far left.

I read about a white Rabbit with the plates 'ML8 ML8'

In Indiana, you can get a plate that says "In God We Trust" on the left side. I saw one with a big chrome border that looked like bones. The bones blocked out part of it, so it said "In od we rust."

I remember a black VW Rabbit with the license plate INLE. Loved that one.

And another one took my mother and I a year to figure out, since we saw it almost every day picking me up from school. It read AUILOX. The woman driving was blond. So confusing!

Au is gold. She's blond. Goldilocks. Yeah, we groaned too.

For the longest time the security people at my school wondered what my fascination with "foreign sex" was, and how I got away with splashing it across my license plate:

XXX 4N6

None of them had ever heard of the proper definition of the word:

American Heritage Dictionary
foˇrenˇsics (fə-rěn'sĭks, -zĭks)
n. (used with a sing. verb)

The art or study of formal debate; argumentation.

It's from the novel Watership Down. The Rabbit of Death, in the mythology of Rabbits, is "The Black Rabbit of Inle"

I had a friend who swore she saw that one, too.

The one I love was one I saw at a traffic light,. It took me a minute to figure it out:

ML8 ML8

What made it perfect was that it was on a White Rabbit.

The one I saw was a New Hampshire Plate, but there must be more than one of these, because someone on this Board reported another case from down South.
