I had a dog who used to sing/howl only to piano music. Why do they "sing"? Why would mine only sing to certain music (she'd sing when we played the piano or if I put Chopin on the stereo)?
My apologies if this has been asked before. I did a search but not successfully.

My little Sophie only sings when she can hear an emergency vehicle. She looks around at the people laughing at her with a look of 'I can't help it. It has a mind of it's own'. It's really funny, and oh so cute. But I don't know why she has to do it.

So my dog thought the piano was another dog?

I used to have a dog that would sing when the theme from M*A*S*H would come up on the TV.

Nanobyte's link has the clear concise answer.

Yes, his link answers Babar's question.
It says:
"Like you, many people believe that dogs howl in response to fire-truck and police sirens because it hurts their ears."
I want to know if that is implying that the dogs also think pianos and the theme from MASH are also other dogs.
I have cats and they chirp at birds all the time...
