I don't know if you caught "Miss Guided" last night.
ABC buried it at 10:30 pm.
And then they will burn through 2 episodes at 8 on Thursday and 2 more the next Thursday.

I can only guess what that strategy means.
I suppose they might have thought the first episode was too weak, so they almost-threw-it-away and hope the second episode will do better, because it has guest star Ashton Kutcher (who is apparantly a co-producer or something).
And why burn up the other episodes so fast? I guess to make first time viewers feel they are familiar with it sooner.

I don't know what they are afraid of. It's a pleasant show about an insecure high school guidance counselor, and the other teachers she likes/doesn't like much/are old alums she is intimidated by but don't remember her.

Well shot and acted, but fairly tame. Of course Aston Kutcher came from the tame 70's show that got a following once they developed the characters.

Anyone else see it? Impressions?

I thought it was pretty mediocre. It reminded me a lot of Samantha Who? - obvious humor, but somewhat watchable due to a charming star (Christina Applegate there, Judy Greer here).

The flashbacks annoyed me, as they were typically the most obvious jokes. It was like a live action Family Guy for a bit there (fortunately nothing can be as bad as Family Guy, however). Kudos for not having a laugh track, but boo to the fact that the humor was so obvious they may as well have flashed the words "THIS PART IS FUNNY" on the screen a few times.

I'll give it one more shot for Judy (gotta support any Arrested Development alums), but that'll probably be it.

BTW it's a selling point that Ashton Kutcher is involved? ABC apparently thinks so. From the ads I've seen I'm surprised they didn't call it Ashton Kutcher's Miss Guided, guest starring ASHTON KUTCHER in a couple episodes!!!

The promos looked better than the "sneak preview".

I was hoping this show would be the next Boston Public.

I caught part of it. It looked so "pilot-y" that I can understand why NBC has decided to develop vastly fewer pilots in the future. The whole show was so busy setting up characters and relationships and complications for the future that it had no room for the story, which seemed to be going down a list ticking off high school cliché situations.

Judy Greer is totally appealing and the rest of the cast have potential. Now they need to steal Tina Fey away from writing her own show to write some funny lines and situations for them. (Now for the quickly backing away part: how many people watching the pilot of 30 Rock gave it pretty same the same review I've giving Miss Guided and wouldn't have believed how much the show has grown in two years?)

I saw tonight why they wanted to reach episode 3 before anybody had a chance to talk about it.
Anyone talking about it tomorrow will be mentioning the "teacher goes commando" photo on the school blog.
I sure hope that's not based on a real incident ;)

It's okay. I had higher expectations since it was produced by the person who did Wonderfalls, but I guess they can't all be gems.
