A recent post about George Clinton's "Atomic Dog" got me thinking: There sure are a lot of acts in the hip-hop world especially with the word "Dogg" in their name. A few that come to mind are Snoop Doggy Doog, Nate Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, Li'l Bo-Wow, and that infernal "Who let the Dogs out?" song.

What's up with all these doggs?

When did this start? George Clinton? Arsenio Hall's Dog Pound?

American pop sure generates some weird trends.

(Oh and another thing - what's up with all these rappers going as "Li'l" something or other?)

Well, all the rappers who went by "Big" something or other seem to have died. Maybe the ones left are superstitious?
