Does Paypal report the money you receive?

Specifically, if I just left some money in there for a few months before i send it to my bank account, do they report it to any authorities? I need this information for a book report.

Like a regular bank, Paypal only reports transactions of $6,000 or more.

They also report any interest you receive on their interest-bearing accounts if it's more than ten dollars.
