Rod UFOs

Recently I was watching TLC and they had a story about "Rod UFOs". They showed some intriguing video of these things. Has anyone come up with a suitable explaination of what these are yet?

It doesn't appear that anybody's come up with any evidence to suggest that they are anything besides insects on video.
