Recently a Propane storage area in Toronto blew up and fox just reported that a Dam let go in the Grand Canyon.

Is there a correct place for breaking news other than Cafe society for the entertainment world, or can one be created.

Breaking news usually goes in MPSIMS - unless it's political, in which case it goes in Great Debates, or if the original poster is sufficiently ticked off about it that he/she puts it in the Pit. I think a post about what you're describing would fit fine in MPSIMS. We've had threads about earthquakes and fires in there recently, for example.

Wanted to add: that's not a flat-out "no" or anything. It's just that threads like that tend to get moved to the right forum, so a Breaking News forum would probably end up creating some duplicates.
