Not in one trip! :)

According to my bike odometer, I now have 4,000 miles on my 2001 Trek 520 which I bough early June 2003 at a decent discout.

Last year I had over 1,000 miles - being unemployed helped (often was looking for something to do that didn't cost money)

The tires are still ok (I had two inner tube faliues the 1t year) as is everything else as far as I can tell.

I still hope to get a short (weekend, maybe 120 mile) loaded tour in this year - I haven't actually used it for one yet - though I have doen supported tours carrying nontrivial amounts of stuff on it.

I managed to clock up 1,000 miles + in 11 mths on my beloved Marin Trail, before I stupidly left it unlocked outside a shop and took my eye off it for 5 secs. max. I'm still mourning my loss now, 3 years later. :(

Nice one, N9IWP. I've had a trek for a little over 2 years now, I've done a little over 5000k on it. Tomorrow I'm going to depart on my biggest adventure yet: me and some friends of mine are going to the French Alps and we're going to try and climb l'Alpe d'Huez (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpe_d%27Huez)!

Impressive N9IWP.

At the moment I probably have somewhere between 800-1000 km on my Surly Long Haul Trucker (purchased at the beginning of this summer). By the end of next summer I will have more than 7000 km on it as I will be doing an unsupported tour across Canada with the wife.

I'm not worthy! .
Actually an 8% grade isn't that bad, its just goes fro a LONG time. One of the day tours I usually go on around here has a hill that some claim is 18% (though is < 1 mile in length). I've never made it up.

I clock up about 75 miles a week just from commuting... I bought my new mountain bike in late February and have done something like 1900 miles already (quite a few weeks off work in that time!).

Lots of that is on-road though, so it's not been thrashed too hard!

Have you replaced your chain in that time? I have found I have to replace mine every 3000 miles or so. Riding on a worn out chain can be expensive as you may be wearing out the sprockets also.

One of the friends of the Groom cycled 189 miles in a little over 9hrs to get to the wedding I attended the other day. He averaged about 20MPH.

Not bad, N9IWP, congrats!

That makes two of us, since I took a look at my odometer just now and found that I just passed 6400 km (about 4000mi.) in the past week or so.
