We all have things we don't want to do, or want to do but don't want to do right now or... So what are you procrastinating on?

Mine:

Important:
- I should be working on my English homework. But I'm not. I'll do it at some point before class on Tuesday.
- I should get the HPV vaccine before I'm too old. My mom said they'd pay for it. But it means going into the Health Office at College and figuring out what I need to do. And my social anxiety says NO.

Not important:
- Illustrating all the Okalen glyphs so I can organize them. I've got an Illustrator file start for them.
- Typing up a Batman fanfic. It's not that good, but I could get it done and not have to worry about it.
- Typing up various myths.
- Taking stuff to the thrift store and donating to the animal shelter. I've got a pile that's slowly taking over my dining room.

- Deciding what to go back to school for.
- Backing up my husband's blog. (It seems like it's going to be a headache and I'm not up to it lately.)
- Making several appointments. Why can't I do this online?

Vacuuming and shampooing the carpets. I am waiting for hubby to get home from work and entertain the baby.....yeah that's the ticket. Never mind the fact that the baby has been entertaining himself just fine for the past hour trying to crawl. But still, do I want him crawling on a wet floor once I am done shampooing? Of course not, so I STILL need to wait until hubby comes home so he can entertain the baby. That's the ticket. Of course, If I put Leo in his nursery and let him entertain himself in there, that would work, but then......I'm afraid the noise of the vacuum will scare him this time, even though it never has before, and then I still need to wait until hubby gets home from work and entertains the baby..........I can do this alllllll day, but I can't, I need to go entertain the baby. :)

Unfortunately I have some pretty major things I'm procrastination at the moment:
researching residency programs
writing a personal statement
the presentation I have to give monday

and of course assorted minor tasks.

Seeing the doctor about my foot that's been sore for three months. (I've maxed out the company part of my medical insurance and have to pay 100% deductible for the next $1500. )

-Writing my personal statement for law school. I know what I want to say, I just don't know how to say it without sounding like a tool. As ego-centric as I am, and as much as I like to write, I absolutely loathe writing anything formal about myself.

-Ironing my husband's shirts. I just can't give a crap right now if he goes into the office looking like hell in the morning. No matter how hard I try, I just can't get excited about it.

-Sorting my Grandparents pictures and things for archival. I started arranging the B&W photos by size until I had a breakdown. Gonna have to wait until after the LSAT to do it, I think.

-Putting up the shelving for the dude's guitars and other music stuff, plus re-arranging the front room so that his amp and guitars are in an easy-to-get-to place to play. And moving the computer to a wall with enough outlets.

-Fixing the closet door.

I am just not in the mood for any of this crap. At least the dishes are done. I'm off to play WoW until it's running time.

Just the usual cleaning stuff. Other than that, I'm pretty much up to date on everything.

Deciding which program will get me where I want to be, licensed as a counselor. And then applying for the program. But I've started looking and have actually overcome the biggest barrier--me thinking I can't do this, I'm not good enough etc.

I swear I'm gonna end up collecting masters' degrees.

Replying to an email from a classmate.

Eating supper... I just don't feel like dealing with food, but I'm getting hungry.

Cleaning.

Probably other stuff, too.

Getting a job.

:(

I need one and I want one, but I can't motivate myself to spend hours upon hours searching for one.

Sometimes I hate my mad procrastination skills.

I recently moved and need to get my vehicle registered in this state. I also need to get a new driver's license so I can vote here this coming November. Just can't work up the ambition to get up early and go stand in line at the Secretary of State's office.

I also need to do my pushups for the day, maybe go for a run. And I need to go in for the next set of testing for a job I am applying for that has ongoing enrollment.

I should also probably eat something. I haven't eaten yet today, and only had a sandwich yesterday. Since moving here all by my lonesome, and due to some relationship issues that are stressing me out beyond belief, I haven't been able to get myself into a cooking mood. I've lost about 10 lb in the past week, I need to get on this.

Or I could read the dope and play EVE.

Cleaning my room.
Reading a paper for lab meeting tomorrow.
Getting my laundry out of the dryer and putting it away.

Today I finally finished something I'd been putting off for a while: turning in my benefits form for a new job. It took me a while to wade through everything, but now I have healthcare! And a retirement plan! Hooray!

Secretary of State's office? You go to the County Tax Office (http://www.txdot.gov/services/vehicle_titles_and_registration/new_residents.htm) to register your car. Then, to the DPS (http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administration/driver_licensing_control/movingtotexas.htm) to get your driver license.

Damn this crazy state.

Since I no longer live there, I"ll agree!

Anyway, get the car inspected first. Make sure the check engine light isn't on and then pay about 50 bucks. Then go to the county tax office (you can renew online in Dallas county)
Then to the DPS for your license and to register to vote. You don't specify a party.

Don't feel bad, Captain_C. We moved back to this state over a year ago and I still haven't taken care of my license. How's that for lazy? For awhile I had the excuse of being very pregnant/taking care of a newborn. But now she's ten months old so I guess that doesn't work anymore. Hmmm...maybe I'll try and take care of that tomorrow.

I did finally get the cars registered, though.

I also desperately need to see a dentist. It's been way too long. But I keep putting it off because I know they're going to find cavities, and I don't want to deal with it. Yes, I know it's only going to get worse. No, it doesn't make sense. But I HATE the dentist!

Less important, the litter boxes could really use a good cleaning.

Getting new glasses! Thailand can be a very good place for glasses, but not if you have seriously poor vision like I do. I have a high degree of astigmatism. Even back in the US, I could never go to those "glasses in an hour" places, and half the time I had to have the lenses sent back again to be remade. Here, it's proving impossible to have any made. I've been to several eye doctors, some of them supposedly the best in the country and working for the top clinics, but I just can't see out of the glasses I end up with and always have to revert to an old pair I've had for years. The doctors blame the lens makers, the lens makers blame the doctors. I'm gearing up to try again soon, but it's become like pulling teeth.

I'm putting off looking for a new job. I need to be looking for something else, but I really like where I work now. I'm just not making enough.

Also, my divorce. Come October, I'll be separated for 3 years. I'm just finding other uses for the money right now.

I finally bought an apartment earlier this year, and I've gotten back into my exercise regimen after the summer break, and tightened up my sleep schedule and eating habits, so that's the big (and expensive) things done.

Little things;
- fix the hinges on the dresser door in my bedroom
- call my strata rep about getting a replacement key to the storage room
- getting a haircut
- replacing the heating element in my bbq
- fix the toilet in the main bathroom

Important things:

- Getting my retirement stuff started at work. I've been working there a year now, I should really be contributing to my retirement thingy. I don't understand the process at all, and I think I'm intimidated and scared to do anything in case I screw up.

- Getting my continuing education credits in order for the ASCP so I can renew my certification as a med tech next year.

- Calling the Canadian Revenue Agency to figure out why they gave me a tax refund check and then asked me for money.

Not as important things:

- Filing the pile of papers on my desk.
- Organizing the digital photos on my computer
- Writing a letter to my grandma (actually, that's pretty important, maybe I should put that in the other section)
- Putting together a birthday wishlist for my Mom because she wants options.

Getting new glasses!

Oh yeah, I need to do that, too. My old prescription isn't strong enough now and one of my pairs (the really cute ones :() are bent. I think I sat on them.

I actually just got new glasses and they're much better than my old ones. Stop putting that off, people!

I'm putting off all of my homework. It's Friday so nothing is too pressing, but I put off homework during the week too. It's a terrible habit. Oh, and I need to go buy a textbook but the bookstore is closed for lunch anyway, so I can't help but put that off!

I need to go pee.

I also need new glasses.

I need to send in for my absentee ballot.

I also have about a gazillion other things I should be doing instead of sitting here, but enumerating them all is just too depressing.

I have to do 40 hours worth of community service in the next two weeks (on top of my full-time job) and I'm just sitting here playing video games. I've been putting this off for five and a half months.
