1. Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)?
I live in Nevada - currently considered a swing state.

2. Are you registered to vote?
Yes.

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?
Absolutely. Obama.

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
Tough call, but considering I teach at a college, most of my students are for Obama and almost none of them have land-line phones and have never been called for a poll. They are quite excited about voting and it is already a hot topic in all of my classes, so I am optimistic that they, as well as other newly registered Democrats in this state will get off their butts and vote - and this might pull it off and turn the state "Blue" this time around.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
Friends - about 95% Obama
Family - about 50% Obama
Co-Workers - about 80% Obama

4. Too close to call.

5. Friends & Family are overwhelmingly for Obama. Not sure about coworkers.

1. Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)? Swing, currently leaning a bit red (Ohio)

2. Are you registered to vote? Yes

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom? Obama!

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state? Who the hell knows? I'm a pessimist, and I think McCain is going to eek it out.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom? Dunno. I don't talk politics with my family or coworkers much. Of my few close friends (6 or 7 people), I'd say all are Obama voters. The missus is an Obama voter as well.

Blue State (Illinois).

2. Are you registered to vote?
Yes.

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?
Obama.

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
Obama by a long shot since he's both the Democrat and local candidate.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
My circle is overwhelmingly Obama, but I don't think we necessarily represent a perfect subsection of America.

1. Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)? New Jersey is a Blue State (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_states_and_blue_states)

2. Are you registered to vote? Yes

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom? I will be voting for Obama.

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state? Obama will win NJ, he'll win by a comfortable margin. Even our Republicans tend to the moderate or liberal side of the party.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom? Friends run about 70% for Obama, Family is closer to 50% and co-workers I don't have a good feel for, I think it might be slightly in favor of McCain. Where I work, being in my 40s still puts me on the younger side.

1. Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)?
Pennsylvania is a swing state

2. Are you registered to vote?
Yes

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?
Yes, Obama

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
It really is too close to call at this point. Philly is strongly Democratic; the rest of the state, for the most part, isn't.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
My "friends and family" group is strongly skewed towards the "of course I vote" contingent, and for the most part are pro-Obama; I do have a couple of very conservative cousins, though. Since I'm currently unemployed, coworkers is a null set right now.

3. Obama

4. Obama will easily win New Jersey. I'm guessing 55 - 45%.

5. Family is about 50/50. Friends are about 80-20 for Obama.

Yes - Obama

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
McCain (although my county might go for Obama)

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
That's kind of hard to tell, since I don't discuss politics with many of them. My guess is about 90% will vote and it will be around 70/30 Obama/McCain

1. Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)?
Red

2. Are you registered to vote?
Yes

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?
Yes, Obama-Biden

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
McCain-Palin

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
Most of my family and coworkers plan on voting for McCain-Palin, and most of my friends for Obama-Biden. There are a few exceptions, my dad is a lifelong Republican disillusioned with the party who says he'll never vote Republican again, and most of my friends are pretty liberal but a few are dyed in the wool Republicans. All or nearly all plan on voting.

1. Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)? blue — NY

2. Are you registered to vote? yep

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom? Obama has my vote in the bag

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state? Obama by a nice comfy margin

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom? family is a nest of Republicans and will be helping to deliver Georgia's votes for the red team. Except for my true blue niece and a couple of progressive-minded cousins, perhaps. I don't know many Republican-minded folks in my own neck of the woods. As for coworkers, they are young, they like Obama, and they will also be voting for Franken against Coleman in MN. (I work remotely, coworkers are in Minneapolis).

Yes, Obama

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
McCain. I doubt this state will ever go blue in my lifetime.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
It's really hard to say. Friends skew undecided. Family and coworkers lean Republican. My wife and her family are solidly Democrat.

All together, I'd say 70 - 30 in favor of McCain.

1. Red State-Arizona

2. Yes, I'm registered.

3. Voting for Obama

4. McCain is a Senator from Arizona. Plus, there is a same sex marriage amendment on the ballot. There is a better chance of snow in Phoenix on the 4th of July than Obama winning Arizona.

5. I'm not really sure how most people are going to vote. Most of my Democratic friends were Hillary supporters, so I'll guess they'll stay home or hold their nose to vote Obama. I do have some friends still in Ohio who say they're voting Obama according to their Facebook profiles. I don't really know about my family. My brother is in California and he'll probably vote for a minor third party candidate who wants to legalize marijuana. My mom is in Florida and will probably come to the conclusion that "they're all crooks." and not vote.

1. Red state (Mississippi)

2. Yes.

3. Yes, for Obama.

4. Almost certainly McCain, unless there is a MASSIVE African-American turnout. It's possible that the bump in turnout + the dismal economy might swing one of the Senate seats to a Dem, though.

5. I'm an English professor, so it's a safe bet that the vast majority of my co-workers intend to vote for Obama. Most of my family does, too, with the exception of my maternal grandparents.

I live in a red state, TN.

I am registered to vote, and voted Ron Paul in the primary, making me a registered Republican.

I will be voting for the libertarian candidate, Bob Barr. If Obama had a snowball's chance in hell of winning here, I'd vote for him. I would have been willing to vote McCain in 2000, however.

McCain will easily take the state.

Almost everyone I know will be voting Obama.

I'm registered, most definitely, and voting for Obama.

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?
Yes, I intend to vote. Obama.

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
Obama.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
I'd say just about everyone I know intends to vote. My coworkers are near (or at) 100% for Obama. Most of my friends are for Obama; my friends in Ohio (the only swing state where I have many friends) are about 75% for Obama. In my family, one sister is for Obama and one for McCain, but neither lives in a swing state. My parents live in Ohio; my mother will probably vote for McCain and my father will probably abstain.

I live in a Red State (Arizona). I'm registered to vote and so is my husband, for the first time since he is a new citizen. We both intend to vote for Obama.

Of course McCain will win here, he's a local!

Most of my friends and family plan to vote for Obama, but I live in the liberal center or the most liberal city in the state. It won't make any difference.

Friends: Not counting the co-workers I consider friends, I'd say 2/3 for McCain. (Most of my non-work friends are hunters and/or closeted racists, and will not vote for Obama. Needless to say we either avoid politics or get into nasty arguements.)

1. Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)?

Swing State - Virginia

2. Are you registered to vote?

Yup.

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?

I intend to vote, but I don't know who yet. I consider myself independent and I've been wavering back and forth between Obama and McCain as I learn more about each.

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?

Probably McCain, as Virginia has been Republican for a long time. But Northern Virginia is getting more and more liberal and there's a greater concentration of voters up here so it wouldn't surprise me if Obama squeaked out a win either.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?

All my relatives are conservatives, so they'll vote McCain. Most of my friends are liberal, so they'll vote Obama, but my friends are less likely to care enough to vote.

Likely McCain

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
Circle of friends = 90% will be voting Obama, 5% will be voting McCain, 5% will likely not vote

Family = 90% voting McCain, 10% voting Obama (I think she's doing it in secret, the family would be so disappointed)

Co-Workers = The 4 I'm closest to are all voting. 3 definitely for Obama, one undecided (she may not vote)

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
Friends and family with whom I've discussed the issue are overwhelmingly for Obama. I think even my 92-year-old long-time Republican grandfather is voting for Obama. Of course, he's up in RI, where it matters less.

1. Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)? Virginia is generally a red state but considered a swing state this time.

2. Are you registered to vote? Yes

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom? Almost certainly third party, and most likely Libertarian. I haven't done enough research yet to determine who for sure.

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state? They say Virginia is a swing state, but they said that last time too and IIRC Bush won with a 10% margin in 2004. I don't buy it one bit, and I would be thoroughly surprised if McCain didn't win Virginia.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?

Friends - Probably about a third McCain, a third Obama, and a third will either vote third party, literally throw it away, or just plain not vote.
Family - Probably about half McCain, and most of the rest voting third party or not voting. I only know one family member that I'd expect to vote for Obama (though I have not actually raised the subject).
Co-Workers - Easily 90-95% McCain, probably higher. But I'm a government contractor and work on a military base, so go figure.

Swing - New Mexico.

2. Are you registered to vote?
Yes.

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom
Absolutely, for Obama. (And for the first time I'm going to do it in person, not by absentee. How exciting.)

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
Obama. But I'm in the most liberal town in the state.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
Probably 90% Obama. A few (crackpot, IMO) relatives and friends are for McCain. At least two of my peers are effectively refusing to vote - one refuses to register and another plans on writing in a vote for Ron Paul.

1. Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)?

Montana, currently considered red

2. Are you registered to vote?

Yes

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?

Yes, for Obama

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?

My vantage point is skewed, being in a college town. Judging from yard signs, buttons, bumper stickers, etc., about 90% of the town supports Obama, with McCain in about fifth place, after Hillary Clinton, Ron Paul, and Dwight D. Eisenhower (yes, I've actually seen an "I Like Ike" button a couple of months ago). But the rural areas of Montana, and the non-college towns, swing pretty hard right. So I don't know.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?

Several of my friends and co-workers are foreign nationals, but other than them, all that I know of intend to vote, and all that I know of support Obama. None of my family are in-state, but they're probably about 65% for Obama (hard to judge, since several of them categorically refuse to discuss politics).

Still unsure between Obama or a write in Green Party candidate.

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?
Probably not. I don't really care for either of the candidates, and I'm not really all that jazzed about voting for some third-party candidate who doesn't have a chance in hell to win.

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
Most likely Obama.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
I haven't really asked them, but I'd guess from their political leanings that most of my friends would be for Obama, and most of my family (on both sides) for McCain.

1. Swing state (Ohio) that generally leans red but since 2006 has been trending a lot bluer on statewide elections and issues.

2. I am a registered voter and have been since I was 18.

3. I plan to vote for Barack Obama.

4. It's too close to tell, but I'm guessing McCain. Too many racists.

5. I'd say most will vote, and most for Obama. My co-workers skew that one greatly--I work for the Public Defender's office, not exactly a hotbed of conservativism. Most of my husband's family leans Democrat (with even one of the registered Republicans switching to Obama after the Palin pick because she felt insulted). My parents are Republicans, but live in NY.

Obama, easily.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
Tipping slightly, or maybe a little more than slightly, toward Obama. I have one or two hard-core conservative friends who will definitely vote McCain and one thoroughly confused friend who told me he will probably vote for McCain (but I doubt he'll even vote anyway). However most people I talk to are going the Obama way.

What I'm shocked about is that New Hampshire is showing either Red or Swing in a lot of poll maps I've seen. My parents live in New Hampshire and they are the epitome of the Socially Liberal/Fiscally Conservative set, and I think they're both voting Obama.

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?

I only know one person planning to vote for McCain (my dad), but I work at a college and live in very blue corner of the state.

1. Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)?
I am currently living in Iraq which is neither but I am registered to vote in New Jersey which is very blue.

2. Are you registered to vote?Yes

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?Yes but I am never confident that my absentee ballot will be counted. McCain.

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
Something very strange would have to happen for NJ to not go Democrat. Obama with little difficulty.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom? I tend not to discuss politics. Of those currently around me who discuss politics 100% plan to put in absentee ballots and 100% are for McCain. I'm sure there are some for Obama but they haven't been vocal about it.

ETA I remeber one guy talking about voting for Obama. No one around him agreed.

California is a purple state, pretty much, right?

I am registered.

I plan to vote for Obama, even though I was a Clinton fan after saw them both in Iowa. While he has a magnetic personal force, she impressed me more. I had previously been for Obama.

I only know one person who isn't rabidly against mcain, and palin might make him vote for obama anyway.

Everyone I know is planning to vote.

I don't get out into the republican parts of the state, so I dunno.

Friends and Family all skew Obama, heavily. Co-workers, I own my own business...contracts I go to...tend towards Obama. I don't know many republicans anymore, many are fed up with the past admin and are voting dem this year.

Probably McCain, maybe Ron Paul.

Obama, barring the appearance of conclusive evidence of him molesting children and small dogs.

Family is 80/20 in favor of McCain. Friends are about evenly split between Obama/McCain/writing in Paul. No one likes Bob Barr. Not sure if my coworkers are registered or even citizens.

1. Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)?

Pennsylvania, which many say is a swing state but there are others that say it's blue. (or at least has been for the last few pres elections)

2. Are you registered to vote?

Yes

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?

HELL YES. OBAMA BABY!!! :)

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?

Obama. We've been blue for the last few elections, we have a democratic as a governor and Philly and the surrounds will always bring the dems to victory.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?

Well, I hang with a pretty democratic/politically active crowd and am from a pretty politically active family, so I think it's close to 100%. Most for Obama, but there is the occasional green in the bunch. I do not personally know anyone who is voting for McCain, or at least who will admit it.

1. Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)?

Red state (Florida)

2. Are you registered to vote?

Of course!

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?

Yes, for Obama.

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?

If we were going by Palm Beach County alone, Obama would win by a landslide. However, there are many parts of Florida that are much more conservative. I think the state could go either way at this point.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?

My parents are voting for McCain (Mom is a proud Dubya supporter), but all of my friends, family and coworkers are Obama supporters. Should be an interesting race.

ETA: The only person I know who's not voting is my grandmother. She sits out every election and then bitches that the country is going to hell in a handbasket.

1. Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)?

Blue, as my location would suggest.

2. Are you registered to vote?

Yup.

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?

I will vote and it this point it is about 98% likely it will be for Obama. I'm just always careful to reserve the right to change my mind.

I will not vote for McCain this cycle, for foreign and social policy reasons, plus his particular VP pick ( which sort of solidified my decision ). I will not vote third party candidates for federal office unless they show a real chance at winning ( i.e. effectively never ). So if Obama annoys me off enough to change my mind, the ballot will be left blank for President.

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?

I think Obama is safe.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?

Friends largely for Obama, with a few possible outliers that might go McCain.

Immediate family either nobody or Obama.

More distant family...eh, I'm not in touch mostly, so hard to say. I'd guess ( really pretty close to a WAG ) at split among the western Pennsylvania-centered branch and perhaps a strong lean towards McCain among the Maryland/Virginia-centered group.

Co-workers, fairly solidly Obama I'm reasonably sure ( Bay Area, unionized, blue and white collar ) by maybe 70-80%.

Friends: 100% Obama
Family: 100% Obama on the ones I share blood with. Texan inlaws likely 100% McCain. We don't discuss politics.
Coworkers: Only about 1/4 of them are American citizens, but they're all (citizens or not) pretty aggressively pro-Obama. There might be some poor conservative keeping their head down, but you'd never know it.

Tough to say... I think McCain may win by a small margin... all the more reason to make sure my absentee ballot is counted.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
100%. All for Obama except for Mom (McCain) and one brother (Bob Barr). I have always voted Libertarian too but this time will vote for Obama because I think he has a real shot as getting health care available to anyone in America.

1) I currently live in Texas but am registered to vote in Louisiana. Both are red states.

2) see above

3) Obama

4) McCain, in both cases, by a long shot. I'm resigned to the fact that he'll win the whole election. It will be a pleasant surprise if Obama takes it, emphasis on "surprise."

5) Probably all of my close friends will vote Obama. Widen the circle and there may be a few McCain or 3rd party voters. My whole family is going to definitely vote for McCain, with the possible exception of my younger stepbrother. If he votes at all, it'll probably be 3rd party (maybe Obama). I think my mom would have voted for Hillary but is probably leaning to McCain at this point (still, she's more liberal than the rest of her family and most of her friends, which tells you how things are in the white South). I imagine my classmates and coworkers are more likely to vote Obama but I can't even begin to guess percentages.

I really can't tell I know the I-4 corridor is crucial and I think Obama has a real chance from what I've seen here, but in the end I think it will be close with McCain barely edging out Obama.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?

My Family is pretty reliable voters almost a 100% of my Mom's side of the family will vote Obama and almost 100% of my Dad's side will vote McCain. Most of my friends will actually take the time to vote for the first time from what they've told me and they are all for Obama.

4. Obama (overwhelmingly blue) will win NY
5. Most of my friends vote democratic so Obama, but my best friend and brother vote conservative so they will likely vote McCain. Most people I know vote, the only one I can think of that doesn't is my grandmother, who has only voted once in her life, for JFK.

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
Obama, although McCain has had the airwaves all to himself. Obama is not spending any money advertising in the Twin Cities and McCain still can't close the gap.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
Family 100% Obama - Mrs. Murdoch will cast her vote for the first time ever! Her mom may vote for the first time as well. She has never bothered to vote in the past as she is easily intimidated and tends to think elections are fixed anyway.

I'm planning to send in an absentee ballot. If Texas were a swing state, I'd transfer my registration, but since it won't make a difference I'm not going to bother. I'm a grad student at UT, so I have a valid excuse to vote absentee in Louisiana.

2. Are you registered to vote? Yup.

3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom? Yes, for Obama.

4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state? I don't really know. I'm not a Michigander for real, I've only been here for a month now. The polls say it's pretty close. If Ann Arbor were representative of all of Michigan, though, it would be Obama in a landslide.

5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom? I expect that everyone I know is going to vote. I'm a grad student in public policy, so pretty much everyone I know is a policy nerd and completely into politics and current events.
