View Full Version : Do lesbians like breasts?

OK, after reading the other thread about the guy asking why he as a guy liked breasts, it brought up the question. So do lesbians look at womens' breasts? Do lesbians like breasts? Do lesbians like to fondle each other's breasts?

Doncha hate it when you sit down with a bunch of lesbians to eat a bucket of KFC and you get stuck eating the leg?

In all seriousness, folks, I think the original poster was asking if lesbians are "turned on" by breasts in a manner similar to drooling men. It's a legitimate question.

The Major is usually a pretty good guy, so let me try to rephrase.
In an earlier thread about men being attracted to breasts despite their status as secondary and not primary sex characteristics, we learned that there are many reasons for the attraction -- some cultural, some sexual, some maternal (!).
Trying to understand the relative weightings of these factors, I wonder if there exists a study somewhere that tracks how much lesbians find breasts to be an important sex characteristic relative to straight men.
Well, that was a crappy effort, but I hope it was enough to keep this out of IMHO or the Pit at least until morning.

Do you ever go back to something you've posted and think, "Oh, for a different phrasing?"
wonder why that came to mind...
Anyway. Breasts are nice. Do I like them the same way a straight guy does? I don't know, I've never been a straight guy. And who's to say that straight guys all like breasts the same way? Or, for that matter, lesbians?
I'm a personality-driven kind of girl. Not that quietgirl isn't damn sexy, thanksmuch. I do know lesbians and bisexual women that are putty in the hands of a girl with a nice chest, though.
Honestly, there might be a different wiring motivation. I mean, I don't seek out women for reproduction on some deep biological level. (Or perhaps, deep down, I'm a gibbering idiot. (run with that thought and die)
Generally speaking, though... all the lesbians I've known tend to be very apprecitive of all a woman's bits and pieces.

I like it when a person can admit things like that. It shows character.

I sure know I do.
But what I like more are smiles.
Meaning, so I'm not being handy-esque, that while a nice set of A or B cup breasts makes my heart go a-flutter, a person acting friendly and happy and nice towards me makes me lose myself in their smiling eyes. Until I can't remember where I am.
(Yes, I like C, D, and other cup sizes also. I just have a thing for the smaller sizes in particular.)

OK, I'll tell a little sorta-secret.
If I'm just looking at pure sexual attraction, and ignoring personality totally, there is one thing that drives me wild.
A pretty, smooth, woman's ankle and foot.
(Swoon! Una faints and falls to the floor. And will probably be too embarassed to post for a while.)

Sure lesbians like breasts. Lesbians like women, and most women have breasts. It does, however, seem that women are not as concerned as men are with the size of their partner's breasts. I have only ever heard one woman express a strong breast size preference, and she was partially joking -- she was teasing a friend by saying that she'd never date her because her breasts weren't big enough.

Lesbian women have pretty much the same erogenous areas as straight women. Gay men have pretty much the same erogenous areas as straight men. And men have pretty much the same erogenous areas as women.
But these are all generalities, and there are many differences in all people. Including lesbians.
So yes. In general, lesbian women are turned on by women's breasts.
But andygirl already said that, didn't she?
Peace,

OK, a little secret about myself: I'm a lesbian trapped inside a man's body! And I LOVE breasts!
OK, seriously... I'm sure that lesbians like breasts too, but maybe not in the same way that men do... men tend to be MUCH more visual, and women tend to be more, uh, emotional (?), more touchy-feelie...
I'm getting kinda turned on!

Oh, who am I kidding?
I oggle boobies as much as my BF does. I can't help it! They are nice. And I prefer big boobies.
There, now you know.

Does the opinion of a bisexual count?
If so, then I'll tell you that yes, I like breasts. I really like breasts. Breasts are beautiful. I like the look, the feel, the idea--everything. A nice set of breasts is extremely arousing.

I'm straight and I love breasts.
It's been months since I've gone a day without touching mine.. and it's usually not in a sexual way, I just like to feel them.

I have never been a breast person. Nope, I've got a back and stomach fetish. There's just something about the slope of a woman's back that is very appealing.

Mangeorge, what did you say? We are all the same or we are all different?
I wonder: do all women like to be touched/caressed on the breasts/nipples? The nipple erection is reflectory, can be caused by cold. The erection apart, are all females sensitive? Or should there be a separate thread?

It's awesome how lesbians are patient & answer this question.
I have a lesbian friend who was on a lesbian panel. She said people always asked 'Is it true lesbians ejaculate' & she would always chuckle when she told that story.

I live in a neighborhood with a large lesbian population. Why lesbians decided to congregate here, I don't know, but you do see quite a few of 'em. (Personally, I like it, because it contributes to the neighborhood's diversity and unique feel.) One thing I've noticed is that most lesbians I know are quite stocky. You don't see many thin or curvy lesbians, but it appears that the lumberjack look is big. Along similar lines to the "do lesbians like breasts?" question, I'm wondering if lesbians have a preference for stocky builds, and if so, why?

Well... lots of people fill out as they age. I wouldn't say that the "lumberjack look" is rampant in the lesbian community. (well, depends on the segment that you're talking about. ;))
To each their own. I can't say that there's a standard body type for lesbians. Although, IIRC, there is a slighly higher incidence of obesity among middle aged lesbians than heterosexual women. I've noticed that most of the gay females I've known have been... I wouldn't say less caring about their physical appearance... more like adhering less to the waifish look that seems to be popular at the moment. Although it's impossible to generalize by body type.

I can personally attest to the fact that the "lumberjack look" is a minority body type among college-aged lesbians. You may be mistaking a normal middle-aged body type for something unique to the lesbian community. It's not. It may be that the style of dress these women are choosing makes their body type more noticeable, or that your own preconceptions are affecting your judgement.

I think, elmwood, that what you may be seeing are the older, more settled lesbian population. Straight couples in settled relationships also tend to be a little stockier (lumberjackier) than the young single crowd.
More than once I've gotten "The Glare" from one member of a lesbian couple for admiring her slim, curvy partner.
I once spent an unforgettable, if experimental, night with a very slim and curvy lesbian woman in NYC. She liked and trusted me as a friend and wanted to know what sex with a man would be like. She said it was "ok", but that she wasn't "cured". :D
Oh well.
BTW, peace, It depends on what aspect of us we're talking about. That was my somewhat muddled point.

Lumberjacks? Heh... mullets, maybe...
I girl I know has a mother, pushing 60, who happens to be a members of the tribe. Up until about a year ago, she was dating a former Playboy Bunny half her age. Us guys would hang around the house to drool. Of course, Mom is also worth close to $3 million; I guess lesbians can be just as gold digging as anybody else...

Mangeorge, it's nothing more than personal experience.
Most women I dealt with, liked my caressing their breasts. A few could be brougt to orgasm by this alone. But one (size C) said that her breasts are as sensitive as her arms or shoulders. Although her nipples got erected. A few others answered: "Yeah, I like it", but I was not convinced. Clearly, the sensitivity varies.

Ok so....this begs the question, are they attracted to their own breasts? Without being narcasistic (sp?) can a woman be turned on by herself?

Yes, but it's not just limited to lesbians. Some women who see themselves as the beautiful, sexual, vibrant being they are do feel an attraction to themselves. And really do love pleasuring themselves, fingers working their body like a fine musical instrument, until the movement comes crashing to a climax. Of course, I'm just talking music terms here.
Women who do love themselves feel confident, self assured, they take the best care of themselves in every way.
The definition of narcissism that I have reads thus:
1. Excessive love or admiration of oneself. See Synonyms at conceit.
2. Erotic pleasure derived from contemplation or admiration of one's own body or self, especially as a fixation on or a regression to an infantile stage of development.
Well, the first definition for this might apply, but I don't agree with "excessive", because that is a relative term. And I don't think that conceit is a synonym. Thus, I will throw out the first definition.
And the second contains the "...fixation on or a regression to an infantile stage..." which I don't see also. I'm no psychologist, just a very confused engineer of alternate sexuality. But it seems that this definition does not apply, and that so long as conceit and one's self worth relative to others are kept under control, then it is not a bad thing.
That is - it's OK to feel you are a wonderful, sexy, important being, but you should not feel that that makes you superior to others, or gives you special rights and priveledges outside of your own mind. I hope I said that correctly.

Everyone likes breasts. What kinda beast wouldn't like breasts? Even as someone who's posted a preference for the word callipygous: If you're a lesbian, you like women. Women have breasts. Duh.
The lack of appreciation for the female form is a form of madness.
I also like the clavicle, the shoulder blade, the little fuzzy spot at the base of the spine, the instep, the back of the knee, the chin, the cheekbone, the fiery eyes. What's there not to like?
We all get old and stocky, lesbians included. Personally, I've put on 5 lbs for the holidays. More cush, more push, I say.

OK, I gotta go with Dr. Pinky on this... I have to confess that I am also attracted to callipygeous (I actually knew this word! Just never thought I'd be able to use it... which may explain this post...) women...
BUT I STILL LOVE BREASTS!!!!!
PS: I quoted myself! Is that cool or what?

Since we are all commenting about boobs anyway: I am more attracted to nice leg/butt/belly areas. Big or small boobs doesn't really matter to me.

This is very intriguing. Some of the most interesting things I've seen here:
* some heterosexual women are also very interested in breasts
* some people in general are attracted to their own bodies
So, does this mean that most people dig breasts? Can we hear some gay men weigh in on this?
This could be the key to peace in our time.

There are a lot of weirdos out there. Evolutionary, one sex is attracted to another sex. That's why the species survive. A proportion of error is allowed by nature. As long as the percentage is below 50%, the species will, apparently, prosper. So, in short, if any individual is attracted not to the opposite sex, it's OK. Only his (hers) genes will not propagate. The species will survive.

After reading this thread, I realized what a freak I am. I'm pretty much straight, but I don't dig breasts. At all. In any context. I would go so far as to say that they totally turn me off. I knew this stacked girl my freshman year of college who always wore very low cut shirts, and I would get disgusted by looking at her sometime. I can stand my own breasts, but I see them as just a body part--nothing arousing or special about them.

There's a lot of argument amongst biologists about the "altruistic gene", generally expressed by a non-breeding member of a species who could breed, but doesn', thereby keeping the population low enough to stop total atarvation etc decimating the population. They believe it exists, but don't see how it could be passed on...
However, that isn't necessarily relevant here, with the advent of invitro techniques etc.

In theory, such "gene" can exsist as spontaneous mutation, although I can't see how it can "anticipate" starvation. There is no widespread starvation now, but plenty of homosexuals. And the whole thing is highly speculative: many don't even tkink that homosexuality is congenital, less so genetic.

Thank you, Andygirl! They are OK, kinda cute and adds to the overall experience of femaleness, which is a characteristic I really like in a person :), but I'm not nuts about them and I hate being stereotyped ("we all know that THIS is what you like") in that manner. Now, pelvic architecture...mmm!! That flare downwards from the tummy and curve back inwards at the upper thighs, the clever V crotch, the angle of the smooth curve from there upwards to belt, glimpses of belly button, ....oh yummy!!
