I'm looking for originality here, not "Why do we park on driveways and drive on parkways?" or "If you pull the wings off a fly, is it a walk?".
My contribution:
Since the numbers have to be in a specific order, why isn't a combination lock called a permutation lock?
(It's amazing what a boring math class will make you think about.)

Why do drive-up ATM's have braille buttons?
Have you ever seen those commercials that say, "If your phone has been disconnected because of bad credit, call this number and we'll restore your service!"?
