Cast the film version of Vonnegut's "Cat's Cradle" (and/or opinions)

Because I finally got around to reading it, I notice that Leonardo DiCaprio's production company, Appian Way, optioned the novel back in July 2005, with Jake & James V. Hart slated to write the screen adaptation.

So, who do you cast?

Also, is this gonna fly? Personally, I have my doubts.

If it does, I'm hoping for a Terry Gilliam-style flick, ala 12 Monkeys/Brazil.

Hollywood will turn it into a techno-thriller with cold war intrigue and sci-fi effects til the cows come home. Which is not the point of CC. I hope I'm wrong, it could be a great movie.
