Now where will I get my daily dose of 'crazy'? I'll be forced to read WorldNetDaily.

I noticed that today, too. I haven't been reading this board lately, because all the crazy shit on FR in the wake of Obama has made this place look positively vanilla in its rationality. People talking about disowning and disinheriting their kids for voting democrat, talking about all the millions their children were going to lose (like a millionaire would be spending his time on FR ). People talking about how Amerika was dead, and how civil war is coming. Sanity is often tedious, but madness is always interesting.

The owner, Jim Robinson, posted a vanity thread last night about how it was ALWAYS going to be a conservative board and that libs and dems wouldn't be allowed, so maybe we're seeing a DOS attack? If so, they should knock it off. I'm going through insanity withdrawal here. I've been reduced to trawling the Yuku.com right wing boards, and those fuckers are so crazy, it's boring. Making fun of them is like dynamiting fish at the base of the dam.

Both of their nameservers seem to be down, so nobody can find out the IP address of the computer or computers hosting the site. Therefore it's impossible for me to tell whether the site itself is down. It could be an attack or just normal random outages, but the timing and the fact two computers (ns.robinson-defehr.com (209.157.64.254) and ns2.robinson-defehr.com (209.157.64.253)) are dead makes me think someone is doing this on purpose.

(Free Republic is owned by Robinson-DeFehr Consulting (in turn owned by John Robinson) in Fresno, according to whois, and so it's their nameservers that are authoritative when resolving freerepublic.com. Since both of them are down, the only people who know which IP address that domain points to would be those with that address in their cache somewhere. I don't have it so I can't help.)

(traceroute to 209.157.64.253 dead-ends at mg-2.a01.mlpsca01.us.da.verio.net (129.250.25.195), which appears to be a machine in California owned by Verio. I'm guessing it's the computer just upstream from the dead nameserver.)

Well, they DID make Crank.Net (http://www.crank.net/politics.html)'s political section, so maybe there's something similiar linked. People have mentioned Little Green Footballs-is that any good?

Oh, and Live Journal has a Conservative community-it's usually pretty good for the moroni-not as good as the Freepers, but pretty decent.

Or maybe he shut down the board to do a mass purge of members who demonstrate insufficient ideological purity.

Could be. The reaction of Norquist, Perkins, et al. to the election was that the Republican Party needs to throw out the moderates.

Even when things are looking dire, the right people can work miracles. Obama's schedule is going to be a bit tougher, though. In this metaphor, the SEC West is the Presidency, the SEC Championship is the auto bailout, and the national championship would be turning around the recession. Gobama!

Or maybe he shut down the board to do a mass purge of members who demonstrate insufficient ideological purity. What a minute. Isn't this the very board friend Scylla is forever on about as the conservative equivalent of here? They purge members for ideology? More information please, I had the idea they'd be more permissive than the heavy handed moderation we experience.

GoBama!!!!!
You know what's funny about that?

During the first week of October, I was at an out-of-town conference and a couple of attendees seemed really ignorant of anything of substance about the Obama campaign.

One of them remarked to the other "Yeah! People have vandalized the signs to make it look like Go 'Bama!". I looked at her like she had sprouted horns. "Um, no, that was one of the campaign slogans from the beginning - you know, Gobama? Go, Obama? ". I got a blank stare in return. The stoopid, it burns.

Hey, I just got where the hijack came from.

To be precise, one of the two nameservers is back up (ns2.robinson-defehr.com). The other is still dead, so it looks like a random outage they've almost fixed.

Pity. If they had any brains, they could exploit the outage. Claim it was the super secret Obama intel-squads who were planning on taking people out who disagreed with the dear leader. They could make vague hints about seeing people with blue berets outside their offices, strange helicopters, etc.

Idiots. They're too stupid to get with the crazy.

University of Al'Obama Crimson Jihad

and then just kick back and watch the shitstorm. lol

PLEASE don't get this thread closed.

At one point, YEARS ago, before I posted here, I actually did post over at FR. They were more tolerant of trolls then. I can't remember what actually got me banned, though.
