View Full Version : The "I've Never" Game (Game in Progress)
Hockey Monkey
11-17-2008, 08:07 PM
"I've Never" is a fun party game that you can play at home with your friends that I've adapted for message board play. If you try this at home, be prepared to learn a whole lot about your friends. I will start you all off with a statement "I've never ___________." Anyone playing who HAS __________ before must give me a toothpick. Then the next person gives their "I've never _________." statement and anyone who has ever _________ will give that person a toothpick and so on and so forth until one person holds all the toothpicks. Technically that person is the winner, but winning isn't the point of the game. It's about having a hilarious time getting to know all your friend's dirty little secrets.
Try to make your statements something you have not done, but that you believe a lot of the other players HAVE done. Typically the statements start of fairly innocuous, but quickly devolve into sex acts. Let's try to keep the thread as safe for work as possible or at the very least hold those statements until at least round 2. I will be a player, and we will give statements in the same order as the signups. If you are responding to a statement, just jump in at any time. When we have another 19, I'll post the full player list and the opening statement. Each player will start with an allocation of 50 toothpicks.
If you have done the thing that the statement giver has not done post the following:
I give player name a toothpick. Then feel free to elaborate if you want. Sharing is fun. Yes, please use green and bold so I can see it.
If you have not done the thing that the statement giver has not done, post the following:
I keep my toothpick. Please use the purple too.
I'll keep up with how many toothpicks each player gets and the totals for everyone. I want this to go pretty quickly. Game play will be every day and each statement will be given no more than 48 hours to be answered. This means that if you sign up, be prepared to check the thread each day for a new statement. If at the end of 48 hours any players remaining in the game have not responded, their toothpick for that statement will be forfeit. We will play until one person holds all the toothpicks, or not more than 10 rounds (one round being all the active players making a statement), whichever comes first.

Sweet! There's actually interest! I am entirely open to a shorter game too. If we start with less toothpicks, say 25 or 30 it will be shorter, but I wanted everyone to be able to give at least one "I've never..." Of course if everyone checks in regularly, it will go faster too ;)

If it gets out of hand, I'll ask one of our illustrious Moderators to put a NSFW tag in the title. Hopefully it will stay relatively clean. *gulp*

[peeker-style-explaination]It's a gag award given at the rugby banquet every year for the person who performed the most atrocious act that season. I've won it three years in a row, and I'm a lock to win it this year, too. Let's just hope my date this year is as cool when she finds out how deviant I am as last year's date was! Oddly enough, both stories have involved urine.[/pse]

I have never joined an internet forum using any of the following names: Hockey Monkey, tfn, erleichda, Justin Credible, MsWhatsit, ...
Feel free to use this one.

Up the Arsenal! Uh, I mean, have a toothpick for sporting events.
And while my current subscription is due to Doper generosity, my one before it was not. So another toothpick to give out.

I have to leave unexpectedly and may not be back online until tomorrow or the next day, so I'll go ahead and post mine now.
I've never personally used Miracle Whip in anything I've ever prepared to eat.
Not a sandwich. Not a casserole. Nada. I know how vile it tastes only because other people have prepared food on my behalf with it, but I pretty much cannot even bring myself to even touch the stuff.

11-20-2008, 09:36 PM
I had to wiki 'Miracle Whip' just to find out what it is.
And no, I haven't accidentally added it to anything. I think.
BTW Miracle Whip is a terrible name for a product. Seriously.

Ugh. No Miracle Whip for me.
You know why they call it that, right?
'Cuz it's a miracle anybody eats the stuff!

Thanks Cookies, I haven't ever tried Miracle Whip at all. The tales of it's vileness are enough for me.
I will keep this toothpick.

Duke's is the only way to go! Got my first taste of the vileness that is Miracle Whip at a sleepover when I was a kid. Urgghh. Hurk. Blargh! I would dump someone for being a Miracle Whip user. Miracle Whip is Satan's jizz.

It's *shudder* sandwich spread. Definitely NOT mayonnaise.

Oh. I think I have Helmann's in the fridge now, but I'm sure I've eaten Miracle Whip at some point. All mayo pretty much tastes the same to me.

I also give away the miracle whip toothpick
I am trying to decide if i should fork up again, but I dunno, the ads aren't too bad. And Miracle Whip is good on sandwiches.

*Yes, I am a charity case for those who wonder. :D And it was only in retaliation for that "Never drunk" one. That was not cool.
That said, Thank Og you specified the "I've prepared to eat"- I personally never use Miracle Whip and no Toothpick for you. However as a CHILD, my father used to think that stuff was mayonnaise, and so every day going to school I may or may not have had a walking time bomb in my lunch when he made it instead of my mother. I hated it until I finally made sandwiches for myself.

Miracle Whip: I keep my toothpick.
I had some once at a party. The mayo had an odd sweet taste and I said I was afraid it might be spoiled. Not mayo and not spoiled, I was told; it's supposed to taste like that. Vile stuff.

I've paid for this crack-like substance called the SDMB, so Ro0sh gets a toothpick.

I'm stealing Silver Tyger Girl's coding 'cause I'm lazy. RoOsh gets a toothpick but Cookies doesn't.
I've had Miracle Whip, and actually find it kind of tasty, but I've never prepared anything with it myself. It's sure no mayonnaise, but neither is mustard mayonnaise, and I like that on sandwiches, too. As long as I don't think of Miracle Whip as mayonnaise, it's a perfectly acceptable option for sandwich lubrication.

Here's yer toothpick.
I went to a double feature of the absolute worst movie I have ever seen in my life, The American Astronaut, and something else that was less bad but that the horribleness of The American Astronaut wiped from my memory. Every 5-6 minutes throughout the movie, like clockwork, another car would fire up its engine and head out. My God, so horrible.
