So...

Has anyone had it? And can I get some recommendations? Places to go, places not to go, questions to ask? That sort of thing.

I've got an insurance deal that will pay for it (through skullduggery, I admit, but they tell me it's within the rules) if I get it done early in the new year.

I've been wearing glasses since I was 10...I am SO there, dude.

You can read my graphic, blow-by-blow account of the procedure itself here (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=26869). It's fast and easy, but still a little freaky, and not perfect; my right eye still isn't as good as my left, which is kinda irritating. We'll see in December if I need a touch-up.
